Daily since january, he was stealing almost 3,0000 worth a day. Doesnt matter how od he is, he needs to go away for as long as he has left. Most service stations are owner/operator, and a lot of people lost a lot of money.

Key point made in the video: why wasn't the theft of thousands of gallons of gasoline more promptly reported? Add some fertilizer and it could be another Oklahoma City.

Why wasn't it reported, probably because he was taking under 500 gallons from each station, they have 30-50 thousand gallon holding tanks, that's under 2 percent, and they measure it with a stick. They may not have known it was missing. Or they assumed they had a very small leak, and didn't want to get into trouble with epa folks.

"30-50 thousand gallon holding tanks," That huge? I've seen my 1000 gallon septic tank, and I've seen a below ground gas station holding tank, and those gas tanks are not 30-50 times my septic tank. Plus, a tanker truck can only carry 4-9,000 gallons - how often do they deliver? "Or they assumed they had a very small leak, and didn't want to get into trouble with epa folks." That makes the most sense.

Think about, how much gas does a medium sized station sell in a day? http://ask.metafilter.com/23497/How-many-gallons-does-the-average-gas-stations-underground-gas-tank-hold
