I grew up in Seattle and not Portland and thus wasn't familiar with Roger's whole radio history here, but he certainly has become a tradition in recent years on the Adult Standards stations in the Portland area. I got familiar with his voice on KKSN Sunny 910 (and later 1520), heard him when the Sunny format moved briefly to 1010 AM under the Bustos group's ownership, and now, of course, he is featured on KKAD 1550. It was smart of Pamplin Media to recognize that Roger needed to be affiliated with the station... |

Was just thinking it's interesting to note that Raiders alumni Roger, as with Mark, has also picked up additional Gold & Platinum records after the Raiders. Rogers collection includes from memory: The Manhattans, L.T.D. & Pat Benatar. This was during Rogers time as ambassador for the groups on the promotional side. |

Gee, I feel old now..... It was 45 years ago when I first met Roger.....pre-PR&R. He was a DJ at KEX as Roger Ferrier. Back when KEX was on the second floor of the building on SW 5th, near the entrance to I-405. |

Jimbo & everyone: Just heard from Roger via E-Mail. He wanted to first thank everyone for the kind words. Roger went into detail on a bunch of interesting topics back when. I asked him if I could print some of what he sent me and he said reluctantly OK. That's Roger, not wanting toot his own horn but loves to tell the stories. Needles to say Roger & I would talk at length when we were working in the same building. Roger at Sunny 910 & myself at Kisn-FM. Here's Roger: |

Well, I guess I got the sequence wrong but sometimes my memory fades. Glad Roger at least remembers and is doing well. I forgot about the Armory in Lake Oswego. That was used quite a bit for bands. |

Welcome aboard Alex! Some readers might not know, both Roger & Alex worked in the same building at one time. Roger at Sunny 1520 Sales and Alex I believe was part of the Sales staff at NRK. It was great seeing them both at the same time. I believe Alex also worked for a brief time at Kisn-FM when we were at 5th & Taylor studios but decided to follow is dad into sales. |

Alex: Yes, now I remember, it was The Dick Bartley Show I'd see You after. I almost said Earth 105 in my post but was unsure but completely forgot about your helping John Hugill in Production and I didn't know you worked as an Engineer at Jacor. Man, you've really had a taste of a good portion of radio jobs! |
