About a quarter-hour ago, upon tuning 32-2 on my receiver a notification was displayed stating that KRCW will no longer be carrying "The Tube" Music Video Network. I wasn't able to see the entire text of the message (some of it was cut off because they must have their system set to 1080--32-2 is 480 resolution) but it said something about in the near future, toi expect to see new alternate programming on 32-2. Currently, they are displaying this message: Due to circumstances beyond our control The TUBE Music Network is no longer available. KRCW DT 32-2 Hopefully back in New York they cued up some version of "American Pie" for its signing off!! Also, 9PM PDT=12AM EDT. The Tube comes/came out of New York (so far as I am aware, anyways.) Makes sense they would sign off at midnight on the first of the month, I think......... Anybody know what the deal is here, per chance? Or am I just reading more into this than what is really going on?

Motozak, here's what I found on Wiki: "Per a statement at The Tube's website, the network announced that they were suspending operations, effective October 1, 2007 (though some stations closed the feed earlier). According to the statement, "financial limitations ultimately contributed to its incapacitated state". Many stations carrying the station have been informed to direct viewers to http://www.thetubetv.com/ for further information and several are now searching for content to replace the channel over the air and on cable systems. The last song played on the network was "A3 - Woke Up This Morning (Chosen One Mix)". The song finished exactly at 12:00am EST with a black screen. This might have been done on purpose by the network, as the Sopranos television series ended in a similar fashion. The Sopranos used the song as their opening theme for its run." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tube_Music_Network

"On March 23, 2006, Sinclair Broadcasting announced they would start multicasting The Tube on many of their outlets in the summer of 2006 as well. [2]. That relationship stopped temporarily on January 1, 2007, in a dispute involving FCC requirements for digital subchannels." [Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tube_%28TV_channel%29] Perhaps this may have contributed to its finacial troubles? KRCW's other card telling viewers of Tube's demise~ The Tube Music Network has ceased operations. KRCW plans to bring you new programming on this digital channel in the near future. Until then, please enjoy the current programming on our analog and High Definition channels. KRCW DT 32-2 Portland (F.Y.I. this is what they are broadcasting at this moment, also the one I briefly referred to above. No music, NOAA radio or anything playing in the background.) I am kinda' hoping KRCW will pick up Bohemia Visual Music as a replacement. Reportedly channel 16-02 (the ATSC feed of KORS-CA in Salem--nothing to do with Univision's main channel on 16) has it, but I have never been able to pull 16 in at my place. R.I.P. The Tube, we hardly knew ye.........
