I tell you what, I'll take one great new album a year over 100 albums from all of the various modern rock artists! Two great albums released this year that are frickin amazing:
Rush : Snakes and Arrows
Scorpions : Humanity, Hour 1

Old school rock is still alive and well and kicking ass!

Nwokie, Me too!

I've still got some of the original Herman's Hermits albums that are old enough to be recorded in mono!

I can't believe it was 1963! That doesn't sound right...or I'm really old.

But hey, I only knew them from the 1969 Greatest Hits LP, which was a gag gift to my parents. but we kids adored and played over and over and over...

Music is very important to me. Classic Rock got me started, but New Rock keeps me young. There are some bands out there - some popular, some not - that are just SO good to me.

Thank God for all of it.

For some reason my kids, (2 at home 17, 21) like listening to modern music, which I understand, they also don't mind listening to KUPL, but they cant stand listening to Khits or KOOl now.

Something very cool for you old folks. IE7 made it easy to zoom in your browser window. Look in the lower right corner for 100%. You can change all the way up to 400% or custom without having to change screen resolutions.

Motozak, The cover on that album is white isn't it?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I have it too. (Only I got mine in the early to mid 60's!)

Classic Rock is the best, THANK GOD FOR CLASSIC ROCK because it is slim pickins with the new rock these days. 80% of the music I listen to is Classic Rock, the remaining 20% is new rock, which is getting harder to find decent new rock! Radio is certainly not playing it. 90% of the new rock played on the radio today is CRAP!!

So, have you listed to the new CD "humanity : Hour 1" yet from the Scorp's? It is a real "Stinger" start to finish. A real piece of "Heavy Metal Marvelousness!"

I'll save Craig the trouble and post it myself:

I'm Into Something Good," their first hit, entered the chart on 11-14-64 and peaked at #13.
Mrs Brown... entered chart 4-17-65, #1 for 3 weeks.

Those are the only two from that album to hit Billboard's Top 40.

They had a total of 18 charting hits between 1964 and '68.
