You were LISTENING to an idiot. I heard clips of this press conference and Bush sounded like he had sniffed some glue a few minutes right beforehand. The "Mandela is dead" analogy had been circulating for a couple of weeks before Bush said it - Ambassador Crocker said it too in his Congressional testimony (I think) but he of course said it in an intelligent way. Obviously the line is part of a list of recent administration talking points about Iraq and the Surge.
