Honestly PK, I think 95.5 should flip back to an easy-listening/Beautiful Music format like it was in the 80s/early 90s. For some bizarre reason or other I was thinking about that this morning, I don't know why specifically.

Apparently Smooth Jazz hasn't done well in recent times (look at what happened to 105.9!!) but do you think an EZL/BM format might manage to keep its head above water in today's market?

We need a new definition of Beautiful Music / Easy Listening. A 21 st century definition. How old do you go? How new do you program? What is today's elevator music ? I walked into Barnes and Nobel's at the Columbia Center Mall a couple of days ago and heard Leslie Gore : "Maybe I Know" then after that...Purple People Eater, by Sheb Wooley ! What the hell is that all about???????What is the demographic are they programming for in a Barnes and Nobel/// 60 +???????

Take smooth jazz, drop anything hard edged and add some crooners (Michael Buble, etc.).

I'm surprised K103 HD2 went with a different Smooth Jazz feed from the previous occupant of 105.9! KRSK HD2 has the same Comedy network that was on 970.

Kennewick--

As far as my knowledge of the music service that Barnes & Noble's uses goes, the demographic they program for is generally the one in which the guy who puts the CDs into the changer at the beginning of his shift is a member of. ;o)

(At least, that's as I am aware of it at the BN, also 164th Border's Books here in the Coove........)
