I wonder if Paul Allen is going to seek a draft do-over if today's exploratory surgery on Greg Oden's knee does not bring good news.

Honestly, I've been dumbfounded at the way Greg Oden has been celebrated in Portland as if he'd already led the Blazers to a championship. The guy hasn't scored one point for them yet his jersey is hanging on the OUTSIDE of the Rose Garden. WTF?

I do hope is surgery goes well and he winds up leading the Blazers to a championship someday. But until that happens, maybe fans shouldn't celebrate him quite so much? Obviously, anything could happen with this guy.

I guess the fans are just glad to celebrate someone who isn't a druggie! (that we know of at least)

I hope everything goes well for him too.

Michael Jordon early in his career suffered a stress fracture in one of his legs, if my memory is correct. It sidelined him in his first or second year for most of the season.

I am not comparing Jordon to Oden. But if you're going to have an injury to your knee do it when your young. The chances for a full recovery are better. This comes from personal experience.

The results are in, and he's going to miss the entire season.

Refund on those season tickets, anyone?

Nah...he'll be back next season and to look on the bright side, the Blazers are likely to once again get a pretty high draft choice.

If ANYONE ever thought that he was going to be the savior for this team THIS year your on drugs! Mr. Oden is the player of 2 years from now and your going to need to give him time, time, time and more time.

I don't think anyone expected Oden to bring home a division title this year, but it would have been nice to see the Blazers competitive and police-blotter free. Oden is STILL gonna need the SAME time to evolve into a top NBA player, injury or no injury, so we're now a year further away from whenever our next championship year was gonna be.

ps: At least Oden can now go to dental school during the time off. (It was his dream to be a dentist!)
