I find this topic very interesting. Couple it with nature -vs- nuture and you've got some food for thought. It could be, early acceptance of somethings that would normally be understood to be beliefs, does harm in later life as that confusion then impacts ones ability to reason rationally. I'm not there where people are born that way. I do think some are more prone to have this happen than others are, but we all are born with the ability to reason and adapt.
