Anyone else going to see Obama? It costs $25 to get in ($15 students). While I was initially offended at having to pay $25 to get in (I don't consider myself an Obama supporter), I really want to see him speak, and I have liked some of what he's said very much. I've seen Hillary and Edwards speak; I want to compare. (And I want to take pictures, too, if I can.) $25 is about the most I would pay, by the way.

$25 is nothing these days. I'd go myself if I didn't have a buddy hosting a party with a keg of cold guy.

Sorry, Andrew...

I would love to go, but also wish it were less expensive or free with optional donation (love offering!). Can you report back your impressions?

Love,

It sure does, $25 is a bargain compared to those rubber-chicken-dinner photo-ops.

Here are my photos from the rally in case anyone wants to see:

Good reception, good turn-out, good speech. Unlike previous events like this I've been to, there weren't 4 half-hour speeches by local dignitaries proceeding the main speaker - only a brief introduction by Ret. General Tony McPeak, who is supporting Obama.

Thanks.

It appears that whoever was in charge of the lighting set-up didn't do a great job of it. They shoulda put a big light on Obama and toned down the background. A photographer's nightmare no doubt.

Too bad this means nothing. As long as Oregon is hell bent on keeping our primary in May, Oregon simply plays no part in selecting our nominees.

Yeah. Why IS that it May? Was that something that the voters once wanted so they got it or what?

I recall hearing a few states, this time around, toying with the idea of changing their dates for the primary. And then I thought I recalled hearing New Hampshire having a hissy fit.

Yeah, and both parties have now sanctioned Florida for moving its primary too far ahead. Delegates may not be seated at the two party conventions. Democratic candidates have signed a pledge not to campaign in Florida if the primary date stands, but they are already looking to bend the rules. As long as the events are "fund raising events" (everyone pays $1 to get in), it's OK. We'll have to see how that one pans out.

The whole primary system is stupid. I'm not registered as a member of a political party so I can't vote for a candidate in Oregon whether it's in January or May, so I don't really care when it is.

Bring all your pictures of your trailer for everyone to see. And don't forget your confederate flag hanging off your front porch. It would look real good on your CB antenna.
