I would call him one of Bush's bigger mistakes in appointments, but his predecessor was almost as bad. Then you have the Harriet Meyers fiasco.

The first thing guys like Gonzales want to do is go after porn because they think it will play well with the church ladies. There have to be better things for the justice department to be focused on. I'm excluding kiddie porn form that observation, of course.

I'll be the first to say that Bush's choice of people lacks just a little bit.

Bush is going to have a very difficult time getting a new AG confirmed. We could very well see the next 18 months without one.

"I'll be the first to say that Bush's choice of people lacks just a little bit."

Look at the person choosing. Like minds ...

And you're right Deane, it's pretty likely that we won't have an AG for the next 18 months.

I wonder who's next to fall?

I say if Mr. Gonzalez moves on, then fine.

As long as they leave Mr. Cheney in there with Mr. Bush, we'll continue to fight terror and seat some more conservative justices to the bench.

Like there's a snowball's chance in hell of ANY Bush appointee making it to the Supreme Court through Congress right now.

We're in a war. If the left wants to play politics and obfuscate, that's their deal. Just don't whine that conservatives do the same thing.

Actually, the right is playing politics and our troops are dying as a result.

Good riddance to that dirtbag! Like Brian said, idiots appoint idiots.

Washington State Democrat Congressman Brian Baird has been in Iraq and supports Mr. Bush...even though he previously had voted against our involvement. Better address those within your own party.

Saying you support keeping troops in Iraq is not the same as saying you support Bush. I also think we need to stay in Iraq, yet I think Bush is absolutely the worst person to be in charge, having shown over and over again how incompetent he is to make decisions about Iraq. While it's sad that we have to put up with this idiot until January 20, 2009, and that more troops will have to die because of that, the good news is that a new leader might be able to straighten out things in Iraq, as difficult of a situation as it is. Bush obviously has no clue.

Oh, just more Bush-bashing.

Big surprise.

I thought you had something substantive to say, not simply more democrat talking points.

No, Herb, just using logic once again to show you were wrong in characterizing Democrat Brian Baird as a "Bush supporter." Don't worry, I know logic and facts aren't your strong suit...

I think that every single person on this board, and the vast majority of Americans, care very deeply about our troops and SUPPORT our troops. We support our troops in Iraq, it's not THEIR fault that they are stuck in that quagmire.

Supporting our troops and supporting the Bush administration are two totally different things.
