Skep and Darktemper, before learning the fine art of the shuttle, I lost fingernails to one of these 20 years ago at KBPS. Hemi indeed! My late Uncle Bill collected Imperials, but my better half would not have stood for a boat of car. :0)

I put her through her paces late into the night -- um, since I am sharing, I mean the Ampex. This 440B has very few hours, all the road cases, and the package included a nice little AM-10. She is bone stock, babied and spins like a top!

Here is a picture of the actual unit -- including the foot of the previous owner:

Actually the whole quote is: "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

And Ronald Reagan said it.

http://www.baxtercountyrepublicans.com/reagan.html

3rd quote down. The rest of them are pretty good too!

Some of my other favorites:

"The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant: It's just that they know so much that isn't so."

"Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

Always eat all the pickles in the jar before drinking the juice. Have you ever been hit in the eye with a pickle?

If giant ape-like creatures from the planet Ultron come flying over the earth in bi-planes, that means you'd better hide all the chocolate in the house. They don't like TV dinners, so make sure you stock your bomb shelter with boxes of frozen cereal before riding your dirt bike.

Let's see if you can guess where I was tonight, purely by expressing some of the thoughts I had while there.

" I wonder why that kid is crying."

" Man, there sure are a lot of wallets for sale here."

" I wonder why THAT kid is crying."

" I have to go to the bathroom...uh...I think I'll hold it."

" I KNOW why that kid is crying. I would be too if my mom spent all her money on a, I am not kidding, a 12 dollar depth-charge of Diet Pepsi. But hey, it comes in a Souvenir Cup. Like I always say; KIDS LOVE CUPS!"

" That t-shirt was meant to be ironic, buddy. Not a part of what is obviously part of your 12 step program." ( The black t-shirt had a simple white text that read " I guess I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue." )

" Who comes here for a 3 dollar ear of corn? "

" Christ I am lucky to have a good kid."

" The sound coming from under the meningitis-coated ball pit is not worth a penny for me to explore."

" Look at the size of the balls on THAT one! "

" I kind of need a new wallet."

" Is that Steppenwolf playing on the sound system? Oh, no. It's actually Steppenwolf. The band. They are doing a ' Tribute to Medleys! ' "

" How far to I have to wander to escape the goat shit stench? "

" HEY!...WAIT A MINUTE...WHERE'S MY WALLET!?! SHIT! "

" I could eat 72 corn dogs right now. But my wife would never look at me the same again. Plus, I wouldn't be able to tell anyone."

" Sir, no. Please quit shouting at me to ' take a shot.' I lost my wallet and I'm a little pissed off right now."

" Gov. Kulongoski is shorter than I thought. "

Weird thought.... EDIT: (Thoughts)

Were in the hell does that one little marshmallow cloud come from when the sky is clear. I mean really.....one little puff in the middle of the sky......what, did some little plane fart and leave it there?

And there's a word for ya...Marshmallow....
How many pronounce it marsh mal low instead of marsh mel low! Not me.....mellow.

Why do female cows have horns....you think some drunken cowboy ever tried to milk a Bull....you know that had to happen! "Hey....lets screw with Wyatt...ya'll go get the bull and put him in Bessie's milkin' stall......Wyatt is about to get over his hangover in a hurry!"

And why is weird not wierd...what the hell happened to I before E Except after C. No wonder our kids are flunking....they make up the rules as they go.

Saw a car with Washington custom plates and a Orca killer whale on it....what the hell is that all about....why not a Husky, Cougar, Mariners, Seahawk.....a whale....musta been a plump person driving. Save our freeways...harpoon an Orca!
I want one with Miss September on it...you think they'd go for that...hell you'd have state troopers pulling you over for no reason and when you ask why he'd say "Well.....I just have not seen this months plate yet"!

Why do they put up stop signs anymore, hell, nobody stops anymore.....just put up yield signs. Roll on through to the other side....Hey that'd make a great song!

Oregon driver's should stay the hell out of Vancouver......hey people.....the speed limit over here is 60/70 on the freeway's! Shhheeeezzzz

People should not pick their nose and eat it while driving....you never know who may be in your blind spot watching you do it!!!!! EEewwwwww

Who made you lane monitor....get the hell out of the fast lane idiot...this ain't grade school anymore teachers pet!
