Good clean "Family Friendly Comedy"
http://www.bananascomedy.com/
Bought season 1 on DVD and it is a hoot! Here is proof that funny does not revolve around sex, drugs, or profanity! These can be found at most christian book stores and well worth the price.
This is also on channel 24 on the weekends I believe. ENJOY!

I thought you were talking about hilarious old Woody Allen movie "Bananas," in which Fielding Mellish (Woody), a college drop-out from New York, somehow becomes dictator of a Latin American Country, after the CIA decides to intervene in a coup there on both sides, just to make sure they are on the winning side. Later Woody is arrested by the US government and indicted. In his trial, J. Edgar Hoover (disguised as a large African-American woman) testifies, as does Miss America (who sings a song on the stand). Mellish acts as his own attorney and puts himself on the stand, asking himself difficult questions as he races back and forth from the witness chair to defense attorney's standing position.

The film begins and ends with the real-life Howard Cosell doing "Wide World of Sports" - type segments: the first one is of a live assassination of a Latin American dictator, the last one is of Mellish (Woody) failing to consummate his marriage (wife played by Louise Lasser, who had been married to Woody in real life but had divorced before the film was made).

Funny old movie, maybe not a "family friendly" comedy however. PBS did broadcast it a few years ago, though.

How about "Take the money and run" where Woody Allen is knocking off a bank...they correct his grammar on the hold up note, then another band of crooks fights with Woody Allen over whose bank it is to rob.

Actually no.....I do not have cable or sat TV and one night while channel surfing we came across it on TBS channel 24. These people never swear, make rude sexual remarks, or anything of that nature. I have no problem letting my young daughter watch them and they are funny as heck.

But I have been listening ocassionally to the Fish on roadtrips with the family as they don't quite like KGON as much as I do!

People in Radio could take a hint or two from these guys on how to be funny without the usual crap talk!

Edit Add:
It's kinda nice to not have to put up with all of the material about sex, drugs, and swearing that most comedian's seem to rely on!

Darktemper, most of the comedians of today have to rely on crude humor, sexual jokes and degrading someone because they don't have any real talent (or they have writers with little or no talent)

Take Bill Cosby for example. He’s a true comedian. He's hilariously funny without being nasty.

I haven't heard any of his solo stuff, but as far as I know he's clean too, but one of my favorites (and I didn't appreciate him when the original Carol Burnett Shows ran) is Tim Conway. I think he's got to be one of the funniest guys alive!

I have to agree with you about the "People in Radio" taking a hint from these guys.

You've got people like Howard Stern (I know he's on Sirius and he's the reason I almost bought XM instead of Sirius) but as far as I'm concerned, He's a waste of skin. No talent just relies on bathroom humor.

I'll have to give this 'Banannas' programme a try the next time I see it listed in the satellite programme guide...I know I've seen it listed in the Star Choice guide someplace, and I thought it was the Woody Allen movie of the same name until I saw that it was only 30 minutes long(I think.)

"Corner Gas" is another good half-hour comedy (PG rated-but nothing blatantly offensive) that is premiering this year in the States on WGN, Monday September 10.(It will start its 5th season on CTV in Canada this year) Think of 'Seinfeld' set in a small town in Saskatchewan, and instead of a 'slick' smart-assed New York comedian, think of a droll, frumpy smart-assed "everyman"(played by stand-up comedian Brent Butt...yes, Butt is his real last name...with a last name like that, you have to get into comedy!) who runs a small service station/convienence store that he just recently purchased-inherited from his cranky retiree father, set in the small, fictional town of Dog River, SK.(Actually filmed in real-life Rouleau, SK, about 60 clicks SW of Regina)

There is a whole off-centre cast of characters in the show making regular appearences, including the gas sation owner's dimwitted buddy who never seems to have a regular job, a female under achieving "retail assistant" at the station(played by Nancy Robertson who in real life Brent is married to...she also had a small role as a Portland airport cop in the forgettable "Are We There Yet?" with Ice-Cube), and an interloper from Toronto who recently inherited the coffee shop adjoining the gas station from her aunt(Played by the cute Gabrielle Miller, formerly of White Rock, BC). Words on the printed page cannot do justice in describing how funny this show is. It also has NO LAUGH TRACK to insult your intelligence. You can check out a clip at www.cornergas.com .

I and my family, co-workers and friends have been sharing the first 3 season's DVDs with each other ever since I started bringing them down from Canada a couple of years ago.

PS This is not a paid endorsement--I just like the show.
