R&R reports Rick Belcher was named OM at KPAM/KKAD. Belcher was PD at Journal Broadcast Group news/talk WTMJ/Milwaukee from 1998-2006.

And Nicolle Camarata (formerly of Z100) joins Nelson & Terry in mornings at The Buzz, replacing Teri Ann.

Wow...105.1 replaced a professional with an unprofessional. How much sense does that make? I guess they needed someone who would accept something close to minimum wage.

Ya know its funny, I used to work with Miss Camarata. She was a sales rep for Mix1075 during my stint at 1st ave. It must suck to be a long time jock and be replaced by someone who is only there because she's nice to look at.

Sucks to be Teri Ann...

Beyond being "nice to look at," Nicolle doesn't have much to offer to the show.

Thought it was radio? Radio people never look like they sound, so a good voice is usually less than expected visually. I guess an average voice means "looker" that ought to boost the remote appearances.

Was she that woman who won the contest to be on that ill-fated Z100 morning show?

When KISN first went to Oldies 20 years ago, they had a young morning sidekick who was truly annoying! I listened anyway because of the music and the morning guy. I attended a station promotion and saw her. She was 6 feet tall and absolutely drop dead gorgeous!

Niclole offers absolutely NOTHING to the morning show!! She was on the FAILED Chet Bucannon morning show on Z100, what a mess that show was. What an absolute kick in the face to Terri Ann. IT Amazes me that Nelson let her come on the show.

Am I missing something?Nicole is not a looker. She may be nice....but a looker, are you kidding?I'm with Radioexpert on the "close to minimum wage" angle.

Thank you for reminding me. It was Robin Slade. Her biggest problem was being so young on that particular station. I think she was 21 to the main guy's 42. There were just too many things she didn't know that were obvious when she opened her mouth. If she's still in radio, I'm sure she's matured just fine.

Rick Belcher, hope you enjoy Portland. Didn't want you to feel ignored just because you don't have bodacious ta-tas.

When I read announcments like this, it just makes me feel goo that I left radio and never looked back. I've know Nicole for a while. Even before she got into radio. She a very nice person. With that being said, she has no on air talent what so ever. If you were a PD would you ever let her have her own show?

As for KPAM/KKAD new OM. I don't know him so I'll say this. It looks like Hogwarts has it new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. How long will it be before we see another posting for a PD at KPAM?

Anybody else notice that the R&R article said one of the Pamplin stations is also going to air Winterhawks games?

Everyone needs hope, and this fellow Belcher can cling to the fact that he's arriving in time for Oregon State football to begin airing on KPAM. The cume it will bring may be that station's last, best shot for a re-launch. They may have to do what KXL's dipping its toe into--replacing some of the extremist political talk with sports talk programming that won't shoo away blue-state listeners. In any event, it'll make English-speaking AM a little more competitive, and that's good, si?

Yes! I can't believe she was given a second chance in the radio business.

It doesn't matter if she is good or not, they are paying her minimum wage, and THATS all that these companies want are CHEAP LABOR! Turn on Z100 today and its the same thing. The jocks on Z100 are HORRIBLE but it doesn't matter because Clear Channel doesn't have to pay them anything. AND that is the sad state of radio today!
