So the other night I woke up at 3 am CRAVING a cinnabon. No I'm not pregnant, but I needed some comfort food. So the next morning I was off to the Cinnabon at Washington square and bought a six pack of cinnabon's to go WITH EXTRA FROSTING!
I'll tell ya, there is Nothing better than waking up in the morning, brewing a fresh pot of coffee(usually Folgers) and enjoying a TASTY cinnabon. My god are those things good.
Whats your comfort food??

Call me old fashion but I still love a good Krispee Kreme Donut, Especially when they are hot. I went there the other day, got my free donut that they hand to you as you're waiting in line, then pounded down four more donuts. The problem is those donuts are like CRACK, you can't eat just one, you have to have 4 or 5. Im also very surprised at how good their coffee is. Krispee Kreme has great coffee, and I never would have guessed that. Lets just say I was pleasently surprised!

I had Crispy Creams once, and ended up getting a horrible stomach-ache not too long afterwards!

My comfort food? Closely-guarded secret but I will finally let it out: Tuna sandwich made with mayonnaise, on Wonder Bread then cut into four small triangles, and a glass of milk. My Mum used to make that for me when I was just a pup............

Never had tried that but heard of it. Maybe someday if the big scoop of ice cream will move over!

I was one of seven kids.
My Mom was a master of making food stretch.

She made a sandwich of:
ground bologna
sweet pickle relish
Miracle Whip
On white bread

About once a year I'll mix up a batch.
Then I'm good for another year.

I love to make the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, and then smother it with Catsup. Talk about Heaven on earth.

I should try that. Maybe even segue a bit of Braunschweiger into the mix.......

Sorry Bunsofsteel, you appear to have posted your Kraft Dinner with Ketchup thing while I was typing my post. I actually meant Amus' recipe.

(Although being a fan of Kraft Dinner and Braunschweiger, those may go together pretty good too..........)

Motozak,

A little goes a long way.
I honestly don't know how much is flavor & how much is comfort.

Comfort food I miss the most - and anyone who is familiar with Zip's in Spokane knows what I am talking about ...

Belly Buster
Tub of fries (and I mean a TUB! 44 oz. cup filled with steak fries!)
Chocolate shake

That got me through my childhood man!

Elmer's...corned beef hash, two eggs sunnyside up, rye toast, hashbrowns with gravy, and everything covered in Tabasco. Three beverages are needed to accompany...coffee, 2% milk, and a glass of ice water. Heaven. And enough of these and you will be there. Literally.

I believe Zip's still has locations not only in Spokane, but in Tri-Cities. Eastern Washington State original, good quality, not so healthy, but what the heck...

I didn't want to start a new thread with this bit of info but small town gossip says Sonic is seriously considering building a store in Wilsonville -- in front of Albertsons, but behind Walgreens, about smack dead center where the old Post Office bldg used to be.

Is that the new city nickname?? I haven't actually lived in the city since 1994, but have to drive thru it to get on the freeway every day.

Motozak - absolutely, alive and well and thriving. I always make a point to stop at the one in Ritzville whenever I drive back home to see family, both on the way in and out of town ... I'll be up there next month, and that will be one of my FIRST stops! :-)
