Since a company doesnt have to accept "Commercial Paper" which is what a personal check, technically is. They probably didnt credit it to his account, and he probably doesnt have verizon services anymore.

Why? Will it get us there faster, or what?

I'd rather take the low road and have a good laugh along the way.

Somewhere there is a person opening a lot of envelopes. Maybe a few people --likely a few people.

They work in their little cubes, listening to the radio, telling each other whatever little stories they can to pass the day.

Some are friends, some just work there. None of them care and all of them get paid, but not enough to really compensate for their special place in hell.

This arrives and suddenly they all are unified for a moment!

They laugh and look at this check in wonder. All thinking, "this guy is [insert childish, serial killer, moron, geek, whatever]" and feel just a bit better about their routine being broken up --human for a moment.

It gets quickly copied to be placed on the wall with the other interesting and out of the ordinary stuff that has arrived over the years.

Somebody takes it to the customer relations people, grinning over possibly getting to hear that phone call, knowing they just might tack a copy up somewhere too.

That call is probably entertaining! The CS rep makes the call, knowing it's coming: "What, you can't read it?" The gauntlet is thrown, events are in motion, resolution at hand, but with a twist this time.

Back in AR hell, the envelopes get opened again, and again.

New arrivals glance at the wall, hear the stories, enjoy and ponder for a moment, then get back to work.

Stupid? Oh yeah! Totally. Childish? I think so.

Funny? Maybe. All depends.

Human....

I think I just might insert some entertainment in with my next round of bill payments. Lots of possibilities! Pictures, jokes, stories, maybe dried flowers, a recipe, lunch money and a nice note, Sea Monkeys, movie tickets, candy, etc....

Maybe pay with a small box! The entertainment potential is a lot higher that way.

Instead of looking at this like some stupid, childish, useless thing, why not think it through?

I liked this because it was simple human frustration being expressed in an unlikely venue. Who really thinks about where those little checks go and who looks at them day after day?

I sure didn't until I saw this! Maybe more of us should.

It's all a matter of perspective isn't it?
