you can see Pennsylvania, UPstate New York, and all of Vermont including The battlefields and Cemetaries of Saratoga, Bennington and Ticonderoga The Baseball hall of fame, the homes of Martin Van Buren, and Benedict Arnold, wade in the Hudson river, (but if you fish you have to immediately release them as the PCB levels are too high to eat them) and get lost on New York back roads as they are numbered Rt9, 9B, 4, 4J, and sometimes the signs are obscured and you never do see them at all. You can also experience a yellow roadsign with a black sillouette of a Moose on it........ I couldn't imagine hitting a moose at freeway speed. More importantly you can do ALL 1400+ miles between 10 am Friday AND 1 am Monday despite having to make frequent stops to walk the dog, which is why I am home rather than spending the week with my wife and her son and D-I-L and their kids in Bar Harbor Maine. (no pets) You can do all this as long as you don't want to "STOP" and See any of the attractions I mentioned. PS, avoid the "Iron Skillet" North of Scranton, and stay away from the KIRKWOOD Motel in Binghampton NY. Have the Shepards Pie at the Irish Pub and Inn at Killington VT. The turkey reuben was good as well. Had I known at one point New Hampshire was just 4 miles away, I would have made a side trip. Remember though, It doesn't count as visiting a state unless you pee in it. tune in next week for my "Two Days to Maryland and Back" after I pick her up. As a sidenote, Do the only business classes they teach in India involve owning convienence stores and Motels? If so, they need to add a class on basic house keeping skills. this place was crummier than a New Mexico dirt floor cottage I stayed at in 1979. the New Mexico place had a cleaner floor than this one. I swear he goes to the dump for furnishings... Someone puts an old mattress out in the trash, this guy claims it. oh, and the baseball hall of fame is a definite NO WAY on a summer weekend unless you get to town at 5 am and wait. Radio was for the most part disappointing. surprisingly AM reception was horrible many stretches with NOTHING but static Some of that HAS to be poorer quality electronics. I am sure my old 1966 Pontiac Executive would have had an easier time bringing in the local AMers Fm had too many Froggies, Pickles, Mixxes, A Frank, Two Bobs, three Rivers, and not enough live to keep me locked on to any, there was a saturday ITALIAN show that was good. I haven't hear Louis Prima stuff on the radio for a LOOOOOONG time and the announcer was informative and fun.
