I've been listening to 1075 lately and it seems a lot better! Stacey has finally gotten her show back and they even have a lot more DJs now. I think they have improved their playlist. It'd be nice if they could throw up some more dance music though...Anyone else been listening?

The playlist has NOT improved, it is still STALE! Not hating, just being honest. Its the same songs every day. Stacey sounds great, even if she is at a POS station.
Where are the other dj's???? The only time I hear dj's are at very odd times on the weekends. And where is the morning show??????? Movin needs a morning show.
The more music morning shows NEVER WORK!

Beano.....if you are so repulsed by Moovin how do you stomach listening to it for entire days at a time? I'm just wondering as when I hear something I can't stand the dial flips almost instantly.

Just Curious.

I don't understand why Stacey Lynne doesn't leave that worthless station. The writing is on the wall that the days of Movin are limited. What did they get in the last book a 1.6??/ How embarrassing. CBS has done NOTHING absolutely NOTHING to bring the ratings up on MOVIN! What a joke!

Yeah its a bit pathetic that these Companies like CBS will flip a format and than spend absolutely NO money on the station. I can't imagine 1075 will be around for much longer.

CBS has worse performers in this town than Movin. Why don't you whine about them and format change needed on them for a while? Their 970, KCMD, is performing much worse than Movin.

For someone who hates a format soooooo much, you seem to know a lot about what they are playing so you must be listening. If you don't like what they are doing, turn the dial.

Like everyone says, they do have a great PD/Talent/Stacey Lynne. I just wish they'd give her just a little support!

The jocks do sound good sometimes, other times they sound not experienced. And, why no morning show? How could that make sense?

I feel the same about K-HITS, they have much about them that is great and other parts that make you wonder. Like, why is the presentation quite often so flat?

Those part time jocks on Movin are bad. I agree with Bunsofsteel, Stacey lynne should bail. You can only try so hard, but when management has given up on the station, you'll never win. Another problem with 1075 is that the station has gone through so many format changes in the last 10 years, nobody knows what the hell they are listening.
Im confused why K-hits got a full air staff, and MOOOvin only gets one live jock. How does that make sense???

For anything below the top tier of AMs, to even show up is an accomplishment. KCMD is on a saleable format and shows up in the ratings. They no longer have the signal to really compete so I don't expect any radical changes from them. Movin' is definitely an underperforming FM and won't go on forever with these numbers.

So lets see CBS now has 3 underperfoming stations that are tanking in the ratings, KUFO, MOVIN, and KCMD.
If I was in charge with KUFO i would get rid of the Adam Corolla show, Its not working, people are not listening to it. Get a live and local morning show.

KUFO's ratings don't appear to be that low yet. Corrections could still be made. I don't think KCMD is underperforming because they no longer have the signal to properly compete. I think they're doing about all they can. They could change format but to what end?

Hmmm...leave real estate and go back to radio...from the way you guys talk about the low pay of radio he'd be nuts to do that, cept for the fact that from the way you guys talk it's a kick in the pants and if your doing it cause you love to and not for the money then you got it made! 1st avenue...where's that? Used to know how to get there when I was a "Contest Whore" when Rock Hit's was still on air, have not been back since either at the station or on the dial for either products from the locale! Then again I ain't exactly in their target's either so I won't take potshot's at em'. I used to like KUFO back when they played current rock in the eighties and early nineties but as their playlist has kept up with the laughinly so called modern rock I quit listening. I even liked the other company that occupied that dial position for some time prior to KUFO, 101 KRCK K-Rock.

Only answer that comes to mind is that you could classify all "Current Hits", those not from classic rock groups though, as one huge "KROCK of KRAP!"

According to the FCC's Call Sign Query, KRAP is used by the Coast Guard. So, no actual AM/FM/TV broadcast station is able to use it.

I did, however come across a cafepress store for a KRAP Radio that seems to no longer exist... (domain doesn't resolve):

No, Coast Guard calls begin with "N". (I was a Coastie sparky.)

KRAP was the oil rig ROWAN TEXAS, which has been sold overseas. http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=1577553 shows the call as canceled.

So, get it while it's hot! (Arcane historical reference: You won't even have to row out to it with a bottle of champagne.)

It's the battle of dueling FCC databases!
This is the one I used that said KRAP is used by the Coast Guard:
http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/callsign/prod/mainch.pl
I think this is part of the same online system that would allow a radio station to request their call letters.
Entering "KRAP" results in the following:
Call Sign KRAP is not available.

KRAP is assigned to the U. S. Coast Guard.

Vessel Information:

(547072) (T)

I'm thinking KINK had to contact a shipping company to obtain their call letters, which were no longer in use. "The ship sunk years ago."

KRCK was another unused call sign that came up "unavailable" when 101.1 first attempted to apply.

I couldn't fully figure out the USCG "assignment" of a merchant ship's K- call sign, but apparently the FCC coordinates reassignment of these with the National Vessel Documentation Center. My guess is they need to be notified of ship-to-ship reassignments to ensure the accuracy of their database. (An international call sign is a compact, less ambiguous and more enduring identifier of a vessel than its name.) According to a religious broadcaster's site, they'll release unused calls within a few days of request. (Sounds a bit speedier than the FCC.)

Ship's call signs are also published in thick ITU reference books which have worldwide distribution (they're required on all compulsorily equipped vessels) and a long life (they're expensive). Perusing one on a droning midwatch off the Aleutians I was amazed to find KING listed to a ship, as this was before I'd learned the of the KRSC swap (which had occurred thirty years prior, and at least a decade before that edition's printing).
