Talk about two ham-fisted attacks!

;-)

Seriously, this could be the Clinton campaign finally sensing an opening over which to go after Obama. But if it turns into a war between the two frontrunners, John Edwards could turn out to be the winner. His campaign has been pretty savy lately and responsive. Consider his campaign's response to the "$400 haircut" story: make fun of it.

http://johnedwards.com/watch/hair/

I think Edwards is poised and quietly waiting to move up in the ranks. While he hasn't raised as much money as the other two, he hasn't always tried. In Portland, for example, Edwards held FREE events recently, while Hillary and Obama have held expensive fundraisers. Obama didn't even bother to show up here. Edwards is betting I guess that he'll make more allies by getting more people to see him and hear him now and raise the money later. Could be a very savy move.

I like Edwards. I'd vote for him. As for Hillary, I'm worried about Republican Lite again. If there's a "Democratic" DLC president in office, the liberals go to sleep. Then all kinds of bad things happen to set up power for another Repubilcan dictatorship.

I'm not gonna vote for any of them. Let's see what the third parties, write-ins, and people running on a dare have to offer!

I'm hoping this is the case. (Hilary & Obama marginalized) One thing that's really playing in Edwards favor is expectations. A lot of them are already set for both Obama and Hilary. They are getting defined by others.

Edwards has been avoiding that, and doing a decent job of it.

It's unpossible to have disdain for anyone in your party.

I prefer to see people speak up about what's wrong rather than be led around on a chain like a dog. It's so republican to actually look up to someone who just follows, rather than admire those that question.

"It's unpossible to have disdain for anyone in your party."

Not really, it's just that when one consistently bashes their own so-called party 24/7, the jig is up.

I don't know why Trixter doesn't just fess up to being a democrat. He'd be in good company on this board.

And that's the GOP schizm. And it's only gonna get worse as the pressure mounts. Bush does not know what saving face is, so he's gonna go the absolute max, no matter what the cost is!

Both factions think the same thing:

-we are the real Republicans!

Sparticus?

-we need to support one another, no matter what!

And then there is Ron Paul!

Mr. Bush has little to lose at this point, and besides-His poll numbers are still higher than the left who can't run congress even with a majority.

The two are not equatable in that way, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it.

You are right though. He's got zero to lose, the GOP does!

Herb, wait until 2008, then you'll see what a Democratic majority will do. If you want a preview, the 2007 Oregon Legislature should give you a little taste of what's to come.

So, by today's Republican standards, are Hatfield, Packwood, Paulus and Freomeyer Republicans?

If they aren't, then what party did I vote for when I voted for them people?

There is already a democratic majority, during part of Clinton's years they had a majority.
