Nike Suspends Release of Vick Line By GEORGE HENRY (Associated Press Writer) From Associated Press July 20, 2007 12:08 AM EDT ATLANTA - Michael Vick's legal troubles prompted Nike on Thursday to suspend the release of its latest product line named after the Atlanta Falcons quarterback. Nike has told retailers it will not release a fifth signature shoe, the Air Zoom Vick V, this summer. Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said the four shoe products and three shirts that currently bear Vick's name will remain in stores. Vick will be arraigned next week in a Richmond, Va., federal courtroom on charges of sponsoring a gruesome dogfighting operation. . . ." Good move by Nike -- they're sort of responsible for making athletes seem "larger than life", so I'm glad they're deciding to take it in the pocketbook when one of their "creatures" turn into a monster. Maybe now they'll only consider athletes with a clean and impeccable pedigree (Greg Oden) or at least wait till they grow up a bit (Michael Jordan). The last thing our kids need are heros like Vick and Sprewell.

And I read that the judge in his case is a good one. Good as in " Tough but fair. Doesn't give a rip about your status." Adam Corolla hit it on the head for me. " OK. we're just going to go ahead and label you a bad person."
