Man, if you haven't already, you should look up Matt Tiabbi and read some of his stuff. You'd probably like it.
As far as a liberal event; Vegas is open.

I'll qualify that suggestion with the known fact that he does have an agenda. And the fact that it is known, to his readers, allows for some pretty interesting exposure of whomever is his subject.
