I was listening to Dr. Demento today, and the automation incorrectly segued out of the program into stopsets several times. Dr. Demento ended about 10 minutes early. It also jumped out of Tom Leykis prematurely at least once.

By the way, as most people that have listened to Leykis know, his schtick is to put out cynical advice targetted primarily at 20-somethings and early 30-somethings. One could say that his message could be summarized as: promiscuity is good. How many of Tom's listeners actually take him seriously?

If you were to send Rick an email, I bet he would get things fixed up asap.

As for Leykis, I'm not a frequent listener, but I don't think that's a good summary. "misogyny is good" would be a better summary of his message. Promiscuity would just be a side-effect of the misogyny.

And I think the bulk of his listeners (or at least the bulk of his callers) take it quite seriously. (Why? Because it gets them laid).

Bigger question is why you were listening to "solid state radio"?

I tried to listen to Emerson but the guy is obnoxious and has a better then thou attitude towards everyone not him.

Nobody should take Leykis serious, the man has been married more times than I can count on one hand meanwhile tells all his listeners NOT to get married.

...To hear Dr. Demento! I kept it on when Leykis started just out of curiosity. I used to listen to Tom Leykis in the mid 1990s, but back then he was doing a different kind of show.

In this day and age of STDs, I think that the word "fool" is too complementary a term to describe any young person who takes Leykis seriously. Of course, I could be just a prude who is too wrapped up in his career--not that there is anything wrong with that.
