Running where, Roger? All Access? R&R? The Fred Meyer weekly flyer? :-) Perhaps an upcoming format flip. Or maybe someone's just shaking the trees to determine what on-air talent is out there and interested.

Probably running on the WSAB website. They're still looking for part-timers - probably in the neighborhood of $10 to $12/hour.

They might want to send some of the talent over to Portland's Movin since that Station desperately needs more jocks.

It's been said before, and worth repeating. Movin' 107-5 Portland is owned by CBS Radio. Movin' 92-5 Seattle is owned by Sandusky. I seriously doubt that either station would simply "send" talent to the other.

No, she left a position to take a job offer at another company, the same way most people change jobs.

It is indeed Movin' in Seattle. The ad is on All Access and it was posted by a sgregory. Sue Gregory is GM Marc Kaye's Executive Assistant. So much for remaining anonymous. LOL.

You have to wonder how many times they are going to run an ad. I guess they have a specific sound/persona in mind. One of those I can't describe it, but I'll know it when I hear it. Wonder if that person even exists? Maybe they need to post flyers on telephone poles, or head out to a club on ladies night and hire the chattiest person in the place.

>>You have to wonder how many times they are going to run an ad. I guess they have a specific sound/persona in mind. << I'm starting to think that's a phenomenon tied to the Movin' format - Portland's outlet is still looking for airstaff and IIRC, so is Los Angeles (they only have the Dees morning show). Or maybe Alan Burns is charging so much for the format rights that stations can't afford to hire live talent!

For starters, Most of the movin Stations are doing AWFUL in the ratings. Rick Dees's Movin Is doing horrible, and Portlands Movin is not doing well either. Why would they add more talent if they can t get the ratings up?? I think the movin format is a FAILURE format. There is not a big enough audience to support the format. They don't keep up with any of the new music, its just a bunch of STALE, overplayed songs. The variety of music is HORRIBLE! I don't see any potential for this format. Even If they did start hiring more Live air talent of Movin, I don't think it would help! You can't make a go of a station if the music is off target and people don't like what you are playing, no matter how good the air talent is. Id be curious to see the new book to see if Movin has had any growth. If they droped at all, or are stalled right where they are, than its a safe bet that the format is not working! Movin is Worse than the all 80's Format that stations were all obsessed about at one time. If the ratings don't go up in the next book, its pointless to send your demo out because there is no way they will be able to afford jocks when they are making NO MONEY!!! Wait tell the format Flips and then send your demo out.

>>Why would they add more talent if they can t get the ratings up??<< Just take a look at all the buzz around WCBS-FM's return to stale, overplayed old music. And why is that? Two words: THE PERSONALITIES. Had Movin' stations launched the way Entercom launched "The Wolf" in Seattle and SF - adding a full airstaff within 30 days of the format change - things would have been different.

I think they can afford air talent. If they spent the money that would screw up somebodys bonus.

Just take a look at all the buzz around WCBS-FM's return to stale, overplayed old music. Maybe there's two types of stale, overplayed music: 1. Stale, overplayed music people still like; 2. Stale, overplayed music people don't like. One thing I don't understand about the Movin' format is it seems to be playing different songs now than it did in October. When it first replaced Mix, you'd hear a couple old dance tracks every so often. Now, its a lot of the same stuff you could hear on Z100 or 95.5 - even 97-1 has a few of the same tracks.

In the case of WCBS-FM's return, what impressed these ears was the PASSION that came through. You could easily sense the emotion that was pouring forth. Frankly, that's a lesson for ALL broadcasters that needs to be re-learned... It's not limited to dogma being shouted out with a lack of civility on various talkshows!

>>In the case of WCBS-FM's return, what impressed these ears was the PASSION that came through.<< And it's a passion that's continuing to shine on that station! The best line? When "Broadway" Bill Lee said this as he was introduced on CBS-FM: "I just want to put this out there to every cocky disc jockey out of work right now....the gates of heaven are now open...cause I died and went to heaven!"

Hmmmmm passion? Funny, I said that for 5 years and earned the bitter ex jock label. Play the same format without the passion, and all you have is another mediocre format. It really is a no brainer that the content between the music is just as important AS the music. The passion a LIVE announcer brings is better imaging than ANY produced liner can deliver. A passionate announcer that connects with the listener is probably the most VALUABLE selling tool a station can possess. Yes indeed. Those profit sucking yakkers have some value after all. Meanwhile one major company continues to think any "D" list celebrity can really pull these listeners. Join me in welcoming SUPER MEGA RECORDING STAR AL B. SURE to the growing stable of "I've always wanted to do radio" Syndicated broadcast superstarz. Another boffo personnel choice from the purveyors of QUALITY NATIONAL AUDIO BROADCASTING.
