The Mexicans and others are coming here, because we have about the most relaxed enforcment of immigration laws anywhere.

Also we dont discriminate on land ownership, even an illegal can own real property. In Mexico a non citizen cant own real property, even if there legally.

The odds of an illegal being caught and actually deported are very low here. Pay is much better than back home.

That one is a lot tougher. With Spanish, ones existing set of American linguistic elements largely work, with only having to add a couple more. Cadence, etc... largely all is good.

Mandarin incorporates pitch, many different syntax variations, and a lot of new sound elements...

That all means more dollars for it though, given demand...

Once again, if we control immigration we'll become a second rate power in the near future. We should let anyone who wants to come here and their families in. It will boost our economy and we'll remain #1 in the world.

However, simple guidelines should be established to weedout deadbeats and thugs. Other than that, the door's wide open.

And of course, Skeptical, it will provide a whole new bunch to try to unionize, right.

Not if the employers treat them with respect and pay a decent wage -- were not talking longshoreman, or even Teamster wages here. Mexican immigrants tend to work hard and often go on to create their own small businesses.

Speaking of unions, so, theres been a rash of SUCESSFUL strikes recently, not to mention several underway. An interesting development on the labor scene for a "useless and osolete" part of the American economy.

If you overlook the fact that their breaking at least 3 laws.

And the fact that they bring down wages for those living here legally.

And their causing considerable hardship to others by using their SSN numbers.


And the freightliner employees got a whole lot after losing a weeks wages, the company will promise to consider them if they sell the company.

I just want to see them come here like your supposed to Apply, get your papers c'mon in.

Right they go on and create their own business, using someone else's SSn number, and hiring other illegals, that dont pay taxes.

Since you are using the word illegal, the US has the most people imprisoned in the world. A good portion are probably legal US citizens.

nwokie, you're not paying attention to whats going on in the world. the writing is on the wall for freightliner employees and has been for a long time. If freightliner simply closed shop and moved operations elsewhere as a result of this strike, NOBODY would have been surprised.

the employees thought it would be a good time to kick freightliner in the balls for f*cking over their retirement benefits.

Maybe the next employer will sell the company jet before messing with retirement benefits.
