This is for all of you jocks. Have you ever unintentionaly made words rhyme for a ridiculious amount of time? I call it the Jesse Jackson effect. I've done it. Have you?

There was an episode of Bewitched about that and another of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

No, I've never had that happen to me. Of course, it sometimes happens unintentionally. I'd never try to rhyme words for too long. Especially when I'm about to play a blues song. As an announcer, it's important to be professional. Of course, I'd never say that in the confessional. NOT ryhming words ought to be your intention. Maybe we should talk about that at our next convention.

Then there was the ultimate rhymer/screamer, the late Pete "Mad Daddy" Myers.

Roses are red
Violets are purple
Sugar is sweet
so's maple syrple....

(Roger Miller)

As for rhymin' jocks...... Fun to add a bit of Whimsy, but don't think an audience would stick with them long on a regular basis... Besides, their job is to stick to the format, so unless they work for RHYMIN'-99, that type of nonsense would surely be banned and the offending announcer executed.

Similarly, back in the 60s & 70s, the Portland Auto Show would have entertainment from 2 different genres sharing a stage. This lasted until the two different sides started shouting the other down.

So circa 1965, I got to see Roger Miller and the Supremes share a stage at the Portland Auto Show.

That show, Roger came up with:
Roses are Reddish,
Violets are Bluish,
If it wasn't for Christmas,
We'd all be Jewish!

My personal favourite, a faux "aircheck" from an old Radio Disney CD I still have somewhere in my archives. Try reading it out loud, quickly~

"Aptitude Dude in the house spinning the hottest tracks on wax, pumpin' the static into your attic, the wattage into your cottage! If you're antsing for some dancing stick to the floor if you want some more, 'cause here comes some more tuneage to make you go loonage!"

*evil grin*

Another one that's even harder to read aloud without getting tounge-tied, from the radio function of Sim Copter~

"SimDuay: We mix the hits, fix the bits, nix the ticks, glitz the kits, all for you, all the time."

Very dangerous.........
