Report: Al Gore's Son Arrested Again for DUI
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288047,00.html

Al Gore III, son of the former vice president, was arrested in California early Wednesday morning for driving under the influence of drugs.

Gore III was allegedly driving at speeds over 100 mph when he was pulled over in Laguna Hills in Orange County, Calif., south of Los Angeles. Police found marijuana and prescription drugs Xanax, Vicodin and Soma, public information officer Jim Armonino told KTTV in Los Angeles. Gore supposedly had no prescriptions for the pharmaceuticals.

Gore, 24, was being held in the men's jail in Santa Ana. This is the second time he was arrested on a marijuana possession charge. Police in Montgomery County, Md., pulled over Gore in December 2003 and noticed the smell of pot and open windows and sunroof despite the freezing temperature.

Gore and his two male passengers at the time were charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana and released. Gore was also ticketed for reckless driving by North Carolina police in August 2000, and military police arrested him for drunk driving near a military base in Virginia in September 2002.

This reflects badly on Al Gore. What kind of father raises his son to do these criminal acts? Does Al Gore also have problem with drugs like his son? Thank God he's not president.

Andrew, I don't recall Bush ever leading the police on a high speed chase. I don't recall the police finding drugs in his car.

Do you recall any probelms with the Bush twins? And DD, while you are here, do you believe Bush Jr. ever broke the law? Possibly, say, used cocaine? I'm asking what you believe. How does that reflect on Bush Sr.?

I will say that it's NOT some bullshit charge that Gore III is getting nailed on. It's VERY serious. He blew it. He'd best take his lumps.

Or maybe Bush will pardon him. Because, you know, Bush has such a sharp legal mind...I mean power. He's got power. He should pardon him.

Yeah.

DD-It boggles my mind how you associate what Al the 3rd did as a complete failure of Al Sr. His son is 24 years old, which makes him an adult (in case you had any doubts).

But since you have never indicated if you have kids of your own, and I'll assume you don't, I just can't take anything you say about raising kids with any kind of prudence.

Al Jr. the 3rd has made some mistakes and needs to learn from them. If he actually takes responsibility for his actions he'll be a better person for it.

But since DD you are sinless I guess we all need to be more like you right?

Yeah, thank god we have a guy who was arrested for drunk driving (and later lied about it) and refused to answer questions honestly about his own drug use when Al Gore III's age.

But I'm sure you are equally outraged whenever Jenna and Barbara Bush get in trouble or whenever Jeb Bush's daughter gets in trouble - oh, wait, no you don't. You're just a big partisan hypocrite who professes outrage whenever someone on the Democratic side gets in touble but we never hear a peep when someone on the Republican side does anything.

By the way, do you think Dick Cheney must have been a rotten father because his daughter turned out lesbian?

Even though Mr. Gore's son is an adult, and in spite of how the left tries to blame Mr. Bush for virtually everything, kids of politicians shouldn't be the target.

That includes Amy Carter, the Bush twins, Mr. Gore's son or Chelsea Clinton.

Besides, Mr. Gore has plenty of weak positions which don't require going after his kid.

Again I'll ask; What is the fascination from the right with Al Gore? Why is there such a need to discredit him every chance they get? What are they afraid of? Isn't rigging an election and hijacking the Supreme Court to assure an illegal victory enough? Why so much attention to Mr. Gore?

Nwokie, I think it has a lot to do with how media has changed in the 30 years since Carter was in the White House. This kind of tabloid reporting has gotten worse across the board. I believe that Amy Carter would be scrutinized today as closely as the Bush twins.

Well, Nwokie, Amy Carter was not a legal adult while her father was president. The Bush Twins were over 18 when Bush took office in 2001, so it's a different situation. Chelsea Clinton turned 18 while her father was in the White House so her situation evolved. But that didn't stop Rush Limbaugh on his short-lived TV show for saying he was going to show a picture of the White House family dog and showing a picture of 13-year-old Chelsea. But, hey, it was probably the Oxycontin talking.

Digital, Mr. Gore will implode, just like before.

We'll hear how he invented the internet, hoed tobacco, was the main character in Love Story, and all about his Vietnam service.

And of course how he's such a great environmentalist, whilst using up tremendous amounts of energy in his McMansion and spewing carbon all over the atmosphere from his jetting about. The guy's a pathetic joke and I hope he runs for president. There is so much on the guy, plus he and Hillary can have a free-for-all.

No, he wouldn't, by nearly all of the later counts of the votes, President Bush would have won.

And the Supreme Court didnt stop the recount, they just told Florida, it had to use its own rules, that were in place the day of the election.

Your post seems to contradict your assertion.

"According to the Post, when the recount tallied ballots in which "at least one corner of a chad was detached from punch-card ballots," Gore won Florida by 60 votes. "[U]nder the least-restrictive standard for interpreting voter intent, which counted all dimpled chads and any discernible optical mark (which in the case of optical ballots Florida's new election law now requires to be counted as votes)," the Post reported, "Gore had 107 more votes." One recount with a "more restrictive interpretation of what constitutes a valid mark on optical scan ballots" -- and in which chads had to be "fully punched" -- saw Gore win by 115 votes. And a recount that replicated "the standards established by each of the counties in their recounts" gave Gore 171 more votes than Bush."

So tell us: WHICH SKITS did Al Franken write on SNL making fun of Chelsea Clinton? How about citing a page number in the book? And what is the author's source? Multiple writers often work on one sketch on SNL. How was the book's author able to tell that Franken contributed the part about Chelsea?

Damn right I won't. You made the BS accusation. Back it up. I suspect it's not true. But, go ahead and prove me wrong.

FYI, it's amusing once again to watch your hypocrisy in action. Every time anyone mentions Bush's alleged cocaine use (which he has never denied when asked), you are all over it not being true. But all anyone has to do is hint that Franken did something like make fun of Chelsea in a sketch and you buy it unquestionably.

I didn't buy it when Bush's ex-sister-in-law claimed in Kitty Kelly's book that he used cocaine at Camp David while his dad was president. Just because it's in a book doesn't mean it's true.
