It appears Lucas and Spielberg are teaming up again for the 4th Indiana Jones movie, currently being made. Now I have always been a big fan of the Indiana Jones movies, they are brilliantly made, and a lot of fun to watch. BUT, its been almost 16 years since "the Last crusade" came out. Are movie studios running out of ideas or what??? I just think its a day late, a dollar short for this movie to come out.
Its almost like the new Star Wars movies that came out a few years back, WHY??????? I thought they sucked and I seriously wanted to punch that stupid jar jar Charector.

I agree Beano, some Trilogys drag on for way to long, and should never be made in the first place.

Then you have the Sequels that make you go WTF. My dirty clothes don't stink as bad as these sequels.

Caddy Shack 2- WHY ON EARTH WAS THIS POS MOVIE MADE?

Jaws 2, 3, and Jaws the Revenge. AWFUL! The first Jaws movie was Classic, but why more????

Well, they make sequels for the money, obviously. Movies are such a huge investment that anything to lower the risk is good. And a sequel to a known hit is a much lower risk than something unknown. Even if the sequel doesn't do as well as the first one in its US theatrical run, it's bound to make a profit eventually in cable/video/international just based on the title.

The exceptions are probably the Lucas films. He obviously had no financial need to make the Star Wars prequels. On the other hand, making them made him "relevant" again. Making a new Indy film will, too. Spielberg doesn't need the spotlight (or the money) like Lucus does because Spielberg is still a successful director, whereas Lucas is pretty much tied to his past successes. And Harrison Ford hasn't had a big hit lately, either.

I'm sure they're all making the new Indy film just for the hell of it, too. They've been talking about it for like a decade. It's probably taken on its own momentum by now.

Hey, how many James Bond movies have been made? They all make money and are reasonably entertaining.

I may be wrong, but the Hope/Crosby road movies seem to be the first sequal type shows.

I still want a Magnum PI movie, tv or big screen.

By the way, another rambo is in the works.

Another Rambo in the works??? You're kidding right?
After that God-awful Rocky Movie that came out 20 years later( that nobody went and saw) haven't these studios learned anything??

If you dont like a movie, or a movie type, dont see it. Simple, not everyone's tastes are the same.
