Im curious why people still want to be in radio. It seems like the big companies like Clear Channel ect, have sucked all the blood and livelyhood out of this great industry. Jocks being told to just read liner cards, how can anyone get any satisfaction out of it??? Whats the point of even having PD's?? Its not like they have any say on the music, the content ect! They are nothing more but corporate puppets brainwashed into believing that liner card radio is good radio. RADIO HAS LOST ALL OF ITS MAGIC, ALL OF ITS CREATIVENESS, AND DOESN"T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THEIR LISTENERS. Radio could be such a fun, exciting industry, to me it sounds about as fun as shaving your genitals with a dull razor blade.

True, it is much like some kind of addiction that just does not add up!! Clearly the biz ain't what it used to be, especially on the creative/programming side of the hallway. At the same time I and everyone else here on pdxradio.com can hear that Portland stations are just dyin' for some talent and/or programming assistance. Wouldn't a nice ratings increase be helpful? That's what talent and new programming input can do.
