I was very surprised today. I was listening to Pink Floyd to a song i've played more than once and today I heard it more clearly I guess, the "F" bomb.
Look at the last section.
The Song: Lost for Words from The Division Bell

I was spending my time in the doldrums
I was caught in a cauldron of hate
I felt persecuted and paralysed
I thought that everything else would just wait

While you are wasting your time on your enemies
Engulfed in a fever of spite
Beyond your tunnel vision reality fades
Like shadows into the night

To martyr yourself to caution
Is not going to help at all
because ther'll be no safety in numbers
When the right one walks out of the door

Can you see your days blighted by darkness?
Is it true you beat your fists on the floor?
Stuck in a world of isolation
While the ivy grows over the door

So I open my door to my enemies
And I ask could we wipe the slate clean
But they tell me to please go fuck myself
You know you just can't win

You suppose this one is airable?

Ever hear an album version of a rap song that gets played on the radio???

Jay Z- "Can I get a wha wha"
The album version goes "can i get a fuck you"

Or what about Akon "I wanna love you"
The album version for that song goes "I wanna fuck you."
My 11 year old cousin has The Akon CD.Little did his mommy know that the album does NOT contain radio edits.

One other song is The Black Eyed peas "lets get it started."
The album version is "Lets get retarded". Since when is the word "retard" a 4 letter word???

I don't know if there's a clean version.

working class hero by john lennon:

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

I heard it had something to do with being used elsewhere in the media at the time - they didn't want to call people/things "retarded."

Another song - REM's "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" It's barely audible because the lyrics are tough to understand, and was played unedited for years - until the whole "crackdown" distraction machine started. IMO, blanking it out merely highlights there's the F word in there.

Every song by this unheralded, and believe it or not, rather seminal indie band, Fuck. One of the members, Geoffrey, calls Portland his home:

http://www.fuck.addr.com/fuck/index.html

John Lennon suggested to the Iveys that they change their name to Gran Prix, but pronounced, "pricks" in jest. Instead, they went for an equally dirty and tongue in cheek name, Badfinger.

Along those lines, many live shows on the American tour ended with John yelling, "Fuck You All! Fuck You Very Much!" to the screaming crowd. I bet recordings of some of those Beatles shows made it on the radio without anyone suspecting it was not "Thank You" at the end.

I am also familiar with Nashville Pussy, The Slits, Bongwater and Lisa Suckdog. Heck, is it any surprise that the Vibrators and Cunts toured together?! Too bad they couldn't get the Dils to reform or grab one of Scotland's greatest pop bands, the Vaselines, to come along.

Local artists, Sweaty Nipples, Storm Large & the Balls and Statch & the Rapes, all raised/raise eyebrows around town. There are quite a few independent artists that are hard to actually mention on the air -- whether the song is alright or not.

Harry Nillson's You're Breaking My Heart. If I remember correctly, 1st song on side 2 of the album Son of Schmilsson.

I'd bet it never got any airplay!

You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So fuck you
All I want to do
Is have a good time
Now I'm blue
You wanna boogaloo
Run down to Tramps
Have a dance or two--ooh!
You're breaking my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But fuck you
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
Ooh!--ooh!--
You stepped on my ass
You're breaking my glasses too
You wanna drive my car
Buy a lot of stuff
I've had enough
Of you--ooh!
I'm goin' insane
There's no one to blame
So fuck you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So fuck you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But I love you
(Do-do-doots)

Pick up any Elliott Smith album, you'll find plenty of f-bombs scattered about.

Hey Little- Maybe the group Come could go on that tour as well.

James Blunt, "You're Beautiful"

LP lyrics:

"Well she caught my eye as I walked on by. She could see from my face that I was fucking high."

The radio version says "flying high."

D'oh!
How could I forget one of my least favorite songs of all time (oh - wait... oh well), and also featured in Fahrenheit 9/11 - Blood Hound Gang, Fire Water Burn?
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.
We don't need no water let the mother... burn.
Burn mother... burn.

Speaking of album cuts, both 970 The Beat and NRK played different edited versions of The Offspring's Bad Habit.
I'll simply provide a link to that one:

Prince- Erotic City. "We can fuck until the dawn"...the radio edit had a little backspin/scratch to it as I recall..but it was quite obvious even with the edit what was on Prince's mind..maybe a little P control?

The Black Eyed Peas having to change the song to "lets get it Started" brings up an interesting issue. Sice they can't use the word retard in the song, does that man broadcasters can't say "retard".
In the Salt N peper song "Shoop", the word retard is used in the song with a little retarded moan thrown in right after the word retard is used.

Remember when she was the "Canadian Tiffany"? She looked just like Paula Abdul. Isn't it ironic that she doesn't even write her own songs?

I'm with Beano...she sucks. Thank God she's jumped the shark.
