Whilst cleaning the basement I happened across a couple of interesting 45s.... never knew I had them... inside a picture sleeve of Kelloggs presents The Banana Splits Doin the Banana Split plus 3 more from their kelloggs nbc TV show....and a second ep 45 with no sleeve So I am the proud owner of 8 Banana Splits songs..

The Tra la la song
That's the pretty part of you
It's a good day for a parade
The very first kid on my block
Doin the banana split (written by Barry White)
I enjoy being a boy
The beautiful Calliopa
Let me remember you smiling (cowritten Al Kooper)

Wow this seems to be the definitive BANANA SPLITS COLLECTION!

also in the pile was a new seekers 45 with 3 different 60 sec coke commercials, and the label warns "This record is not to be played on the air"... guess so it wasn't to be confused with "Teach The world to sing".......

I now return control back to the regularly scheduled thread already in progress.............

Uh, Hey! I left those at that wild go-go party at your house, don't you remember? I was looking all over for them! I need them back!

And did you find my "Georgie Girl" 45 and my white boots, by any chance?

Thanks!

I thought I had forgiven my parents for not getting me the full-length Banana Splits LP, but I've changed my mind after hearing some of the tracks at the link below. The faux psychedelic, "I Enjoy Being a Boy" is especially worth hearing, with vocalists who can't carry a tune.

I WANT THIS ALBUM SO-O-O BAD!

(The quality of the files is crap, like a mic-in-front-of-a-speaker recording.)

Also note some familiar names among the songwriters.

Roger: I've got that Coca-Cola 45. The best cut by The New Seekers is "Little Bit of Sunshine". Everyone would remember it but chances are most people haven't heard in 35 years!

Mrs. M... Since the boots fit, I'll keep them. As for the Georgy Girl 45, It was accidentally severely damaged in an exploding lava lamp accident... Please file all claims with your insurance agent.

Ahhh, Saturday morning cartoons!

I loved Lancelot Link a lot more than Witchy- Poo.
