I have to admit, I'm listening to KUFO a lot more now than I ever have. The music has changed quite a bit over the past 6 months, for the better. They have expanded the playlist and it sound really good. I'm curious who they will be having at Rock fest this summer! Rumor has it they have some pretty big acts lined up.

I'm convinced that Dave Numme was the reason KUFO slowly descended into the sh!tter. Now that he's gone, there's probably a lot more room for suggestion and an even more open mind to change. I think he's also big reason why Mix was never any better than it was. Even though the music was crap and most the talent was worse.

KUFO is going to have to change, meaning bigger variety of Rock, If they dont start doing things different a format chane will be on the horizon. I'm not sure if you have noticed but the last few books for KUFO have been REALLY BAD!!

I can't think of anytime I've ever been in a business establishment and heard KUFO playing!

I agree that they are sounding better. I was actively resisting them for a long time - they changed my mind. It deserves to be noted. So let it be written. So let it be done. Amen.

Yup, KUFO does sound a LOT better. They have been sounding VERY STALE musically for a long time. I'm glad they are making the station more listenable. With Rockfest coming up and OZZFEST coming, I expect KUFO to have a really strong book of ratings in the next book.

Well, for the record, I didn't think they sounded stale one bit. It was just some programming that wasn't my bag. No better or worse when you take respective taste into account. I just like what I am hearing more now. The song selections appeal to me more better. Ahem. I actually think they were relatively fresh given their format. Their format has changed a tad. I noticed - and liked it.

Yeah. IMO, they sound like the KUFO of old... not the old KUFO, but they're playing stuff going back 10-15 years ago or so as well as the newer stuff, like the "Classic Rock to the Cutting Edge" days. On Friday, I heard an all-90s segment, which sounded great - I don't think I ever heard Sponge "Wax Ecstatic" on the station before yesterday - the old NRK, yes, but KUFO, no. The talk shows in AM/PM drive are a completely different story.

Considering the article in another thread about Rap's declining fortunes, KUFO may be in the right place at the right time!

For a long time, KUFO was my safety net, I turned first to them if KNRK played a song I didn't like, or had gone to commercial break. At some point, UFOs' playlist started to suck (as has been mentioned!) which in turn lead me to the dark side, where I found myself listening to the buzz more often than KUFO... I saw this thread the other night, and thought, ok, I'll give them another shot. Man, oh man was that a good idea! I knew things were going to turn out just fine, when the very first thing I heard, was Pearl Jam informing me that, yes, indeed, Jeremy had in fact spoken in class today... From that point on, I have heard almost oll of my favorite songs! Thanks UFO!

It seems KUFO has found the modern rock hole in this market, created when KNRK decided to abandon most of that music. I've been wondering when someone would take advantage of it.
