Hello. I am looking for a manual for Cool Edit Pro. I know the basics but am looking for a detailed manual so I can make full use of the software. Any suggestions? |

Darktemper...Great links! I know Cool Edit is very close to Adobe Audition, but have you seen any manuals for Audition? |

a great program...cool edit was bought out by Adobe a few years ago and has dramatically changed production operations at most radio stations. Those who know the ins and outs of the program are in high demand, and can really make radio production sizzle. A good example of where technology has actually improved radio station operations! (and this from someone who was still using razor blades to splice tape just 10 years ago!) |

Adobe has a program called SoundBooth that runs on Windows and Mac. |

Take a look at the comparison. SoundBooth sounds more like for editing audio in video recordings. Audition is more powerful for strictly audio and can interact with other adobe video suites. |

Never mind the email. I finally found the latest 2.02 user guide on Adobe's site. |

Thanks for the links. I am putting together a small home studio. Have not used Cool Edit much since I have been out of the wacky, wonderful world of radio. |

It does use a lot of system resources and would probably not do well on less than a 3gb P4 with at least 1gb of ram. Hey....i'm just an amateur hack with this....I am learning and have no comparative information to share but it sure seems to have everything you would ever need with the ability to hook up with other adobe products. |

Speaking of microphones, here's a interesting device. It is billed as "The World's First High Definition Digital-Output Microphone". |

love CE. running it well on an old e machines with 128 ram and 6 gig HD. What I found is that for Radio station use it has more bells and whistles than the average production guy has time to use, but at home you can really play with the features.... I have spent 8-10 hours putting together a 1 or 2 minute bit. Like anything else, the more you use it the better you become. There are so many short cuts and effects that you can stumble upon. unfortunately, unless you are using them every day, you forget them. CE can even make a 10 dollar mic sound decent. |

I've gone from Cool Edit 2.0 to Audition 1.0 to 1.5 and now 2.0. |
