From this afternoon's R&R:

CBS Radio KINK/Porltand, Ore., PD Dennis Constatine has named Dean Kattari as the new assistant program director/music director for the heritage triple A station.

Kattari was most recently the APD at KBWF, overseeing the station’s transition from adult hits KMAX to its current country format, the Wolf. He has also been the operations manager for Sinclair Telecable's AC KRCB and triple A KRSH/Santa Rosa, and has done on-air work at Cumulus triple A KFOG/San Francisco. Kattari also does freelance work as an audio engineer, having worked with many songwriters and bands to record their projects.

“I’m really impressed with Dean’s skill set and his personality should fit in very well with the culture at KINK,” commented Constantine. “He understands the station’s sensibilities, our 38-year commitment to the community and, of course, the music. He will be a great addition to the team.”

Kattari added, “I'm very excited to return to the triple A community. I have great respect for Dennis and feel KINK is a perfect example of radio done right. I’ve long admired the station and am looking forward to contributing my part to its future."

Kattari starts in his new position on June 26. He replaces Kevin Welch, who was recently named PD at Entercom triple A KMTT/Seattle.

"...a perfect example of radio done right"....

Personally I also find it refreshing when a station is live 24/7 with an emphasis on entertainment and information of interest to the local community........
