This is the biggest bunch of crap I can imagine. She refuses to eat the jail food, so they release her on medical grounds. |

Like OMG! This is so totally bitchin'! This is really cool and like perfect for her, because Paris shouldn't have to stay in a jail or something, you know, because she like is so HOT and all, and that would be like so totally degrading. I think the cops who put her in jail are probably like sexist or something probably because she is so famous. Thanx Deane for sharing a story I can like SO totally relate to! BFF! |

Not to put too fine of a point on it - but this incident goes WELL beyond " Just another meaningless Paris Hilton story." You can't say, in this case, with her getting obvious special treatment, that it is tabloid stuff. No way. At least I can't. |

The judge and prosecuter both didn't approve of her early release. So my question is this. How in Holy Fucking hell does a lowly sheriff or prison warden somehow have more stinkin' power than a judge or prosecuter? |

I just saw a news bit that said she had to appear before the judge tomorrow (Friday) to determine if she should go back to jail. I have a feeling the judge ain't happy about the release. |

I'm going to side with Ms Hilton on this, she was being punished because she was rich and famous. Auto thieves rarely spend over a day in jail, I know of cases of repeat drunk drivers that spend less time in jail than she did. |

The court hearing this morning could not have gone better. The Sheriff's deputies brought her to court in handcuffs. The Judge ordered her back to jail. She's crying and yelling for her Mommy. |

These threads always seem to lead to this pro-war or anti-war discussion. The point is simply this...agree or disagree, our media is more interested in Paris than Baghdad. (And I don't mean Paris, France!). Who is to blame? I tend to not blame the media so much, as they just reflect what a lazy, unconcerned, "what does this have to do with me?" attitude that seems to be all too common in our country today. That is the real story. |

How about if we agree (for the sake of discussion) that Saddam had to go? Now can we criticize the incredibly incompetent way the CIC has executed this war? There are many, many ways Saddam cold have been removed (or rendered powerless) that wouldn't have involved this fiasco. |

Author: Skeptical Saturday, June 09, 2007 - 11:33 pm |

True. Bush started the war with a HUGE lie, an unsurmoutable hurdle right there, then his ineptness drove us right into the piss pot we're in now. In hindsight, his decision to flunk out of flight school should have indicated to us the kind of CIC he'd be. |
