I turned on KGW about 8:15PM, only to be greeted by an infomercial for the Swivel Sweeper, a battery powered floor cleaning device. This is prime time, and a major network affiliate is broadcasting paid programming! What is wrong with this picture?

Looks like the Stanley Cup Finals Game 5 ran long or short, and they needed to plug in some fill. I'm sure once the clock gets back to :00 or :30 they will be back to regularly scheduled programming.

Yes, it's an anomaly with the Stanley Cup (not sure why the SC in on primetime anyway though)...what bothers me worse is the wall-to-wall infomericals shown on the weekends, on both net affiliates and indies. No regard to audience tastes, a pure economic decision. What disrespect to the audience? The all-mighty dollar is obviously more important.
