Oh man that brings back great memories. Remember they ended up in airplane, boat, and other means?
Remember the state trooper was Dick Curtis, who I brought into my station once when these ads were hot and I reminded him of his "starring" role in a movie called "Motel Hell" with Rory Calhoun, Dick wore a pink ballerina outfit and was doing an s&m bit when he got snuffed.
He was so embarrassed to be reminded of that but was a good sport and signed my movie poster from that movie!
Those commericals were, I believe, the best series ever to come out of Oregon. It was back when we all hated Californians and it just fit the times, when Oregon was kind of hick and liked that way. Good old days!

Great campaign. Awful beer. Henry's made up for it. But Blitz was vile.

With beer, as with television, there is no positive correlation between popularity and quality!!!

Agreed - witness the popularity (at least in Portland) of PBR, which was almost universally reviled as crap when I was growing up in the '70s. And that was before microbrews taught us what beer is supposed to taste like!
