The question is, who doesn't love cereal? I could live on cereal, so many great, tasty choices. I mostly love the sugar cereal because I was deprived of it as a kid. My mother made me eat the healthy cereal like Cheereos and Corn flakes....ICK.
My favorite cereal is either Cinnamon Toast Crunch Or Apple Jacks.
whats yours???

capt crunch, life, sugar pops . . . (where are my teeth?) how do I choose? I'm a cereal nut like Jerry Seinfeld.

These days however, its Kashi's GoLean Crunch. Actually, its quite yummy.

When i wake up in the morning I love to make my self a big bowl of Frosted Flakes with 2% milk, thats right, 2% milk, I won't settle for that SKIM crap that tastes like water. I then slice up a banana, and throw some banana slices in and DAMN I'm IN HEAVEN!!

"Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids"

No WAY! I love Trix more than any kid on this earth. I'm also a HUGE fan of Cocoa Krispees, the milk turns into chocolate milk, which is the best part:-) Im also a die hard fan of cereal, the only problem is I'm lactose intolerant. My poor wife has to get out her gas mask so I don't kill her with the fumes!

I was just thinking the same thing....wierd that everyone is up this time of the morning talking about cereal....maybe it's the only time you can sneak it when the "SO" is still asleep...otherwise it's good ol' grape nuts or bran something!

I love cereal, but I'm more of a minimalist or purist or something! IMHO, you can't go wrong with Cheerios. A big bowl of Cheerios and raisins and milk ... I don't even NEED sugar. Or, I'll get all old-school and make a bowl of good old-fashioned oatmeal, and add chopped walnuts for protein, and honey and raisins and I'm set.

You guys are all gonna die!

But seriously, everyone knows you have to combine 2 or more to get the true cereal experience. So I go with the purist approach first, with Cherrios. Then add the sugar aspect: Sugar Pops (or whatever euphemistic name they have now), Sugar Smacks (ditto), Life, etc. Or if I'm out of all that since the boys eat it all, I'll just add dried blueberries or cranberries. When they hit the milk, bam!

Cereal rocks!

Cocoa Puffs with Peanut Butter Capn' Crunch is pretty tasty!

And I totally agree with the fact when you are doing Sugar cereals you gotta have 2% milk. Anything less is a waste of material! And the colder the better!

I love shopping with the wife and putting that stuff in the cart. When she ask's why am I buying that cause the kid's don't eat it I tell her that they must cause it always seems to get ate! Ha! Either blame the dog or the kid's....love it!

Cheerios, with a litle sugar added. Occassionally, a lot of sugar, but at my age, I have to cut back on some things.

I guess I am the odd man out here. As I cannot stand the sugar cereals and I cannot stand milk by itself.

For me it was Smart Start but have found something very comparable for about half the price it is one of those cheap generic brands at Winco that come in the big bags. Instead of milk I am hooked on Vanilla Soy milk. granola works for me too but it is awfully expensive and very high in fat.

Has anyone here ever tried the recipe for Ranger Cookies? If you have stale cereal or cereal that nobody will eat these cookies are the "Shit".

Sutton, yea, the Old Fashioned oatmeal! None of the crap that comes in the little bags.

Put about a 3/4" layer of C&H Dark Brown Sugar on it, eat a hole off to one side of the bowl, fill the hole with either whipping cream or half and half and you can blow any good (health wise)the oatmeal might have been right out the window!!!

That and a couple pieces of toast with Tillamook butter on them!

Mmmmm, Mmmmmm. I can feel my arteries slamming shut already!

Reminds me of a t-shirt from the mid-1970s. The caption was "The Breakfast of Champions," and someone was pictured pouring beer over Wheaties.

I haven't eaten breakfast cereal since the day they quit selling Franken Berry. I still have a record from the side of a cereal box called "The Monsters Go Disco," featuring Franken Berry, Count Chocula and Boo Berry.

I bet this is a real lively group about 11:00 after the sugar rush wears off! Don't forget your blankies for nap time! I always love that scene in Daddy Day Care were they feed the kids massive sugar and later on they crash all at once!

Can you say "Out of the Box"

I'm a stress eater and the last three weeks have been....well lets just say stressful. Going to make a concerted effort to find the box again....don't remember were I left it though. I am still down from were I started but travelling on the train and being away from home for a week and a half was not helpful!

Those cereal choices are what got me in trouble.....not currently partaking in them now....if I eat anything it is un-flavered outmeal with a small amount of jelly in it for flavor...no butter or sugar...and a bowl of fresh fruit.

Hell....you seen me....I am a pretty large guy....in fact when I am done I hope to lose....hmmm....half of me....hopefully the half with the quick Temper! HA

This is the first "Box" "By the Numbers" diet program I have been on and it came at the worst possible time. I started on it right at the beginning of our kitchen remodel so there was always take-out around for the kids as we had no means to cook anything!
BTW....it is "HMR" through SW Washington Medical Center. http://www.hmrprogram.com/
It's a good program and now that things are Quasi-Normal I will give it a real try! One thing good that has come whether I succeed or not is the exercise.....Three days a week swimming and a distance of 4 miles all together. 4 miles may not seem like much but for me it's like a loaded barge moving upstream in the Columbia....I hope one day to be the empty one travelling downstream!!!!

When it comes to Hot Cereal has anyone ever tried what I think is a Canadian product as that is the only place I have ever had this multi grain hot cereal at. Red River? Does anyone know if you can buy it anywhere around here?

I remember it being bland on its own but a little brown sugar and some chocolate milk or hot Cocoa and it was awesome. I would imagine it would also be very good with some dried or fresh fruit maybe some nuts and a bit of honey.

Dude!

http://www.redrivercereal.com/index.html

You can get it on Amazon and eBay! Or I can have my neighbors bring some back from Canada, they go all the time, and get me that awesome L'Oreal Sunbrella™ sunscreen that you can't buy here...

If I could:

Frosted Pop Tarts!

Reality:

Bob's Red Mill - Spice N' Nice
(hot cereal mix) is awesome!
