If you haven't watched this show yet, it is one of the best things I have seen on TV in a VERY long time. First, please go to CBS.com and watch full length episodes of Jericho: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/ Some of you respect my opinions and some of you do not, regardless check this out. I find some of the dialogue a little difficult to swallow, but the overall premise of the show is something I got myself and my family behind. You can't find a show out there anymore for audiences 10 and up, but this one was different and kept our attention. Many of us are trying to save the show, so please while you are there check it out and if you start getting into this show like so many have stick into the forums and help us out.

Ya know - I was looking forward to that show. I gave it a fair shot, I thought. But it lost me. It had a tone that was too Lifetime. I LOVE end of the world type premises. I had high hopes. In it's defense though, I did hear that it hit it's stride after I gave up. ( About 6 episodes ). I have the same feeling towards The Riches with Eddie Izzard. I gave it a shot. At the end of the day, I just didn't like watching it.

"I LOVE end of the world type premises." I guess you have "The Omega Man", "Last Night" and "On The Beach" in your video collection?

I steer away from anything involving " half dead." Unless, you know, I want to watch that. But I see those as completely different. I like the ideas of " what MAY really happen? " in films like Testament ( again - brutal - there are moments that just nailed me. Overall, not a great film. But I'm glad I saw it. ) I actaully liked The Postman. I think Kevin Costner has a penchant like mine for these films. But better bone structure. I still want to see Threads. I haven't seen No Blade of Grass/The Death of Grass. Tough to find a copy of it.

I am really tired of investing time in shows such as Jericho only to get cancelled after I get hooked on them. I am very dissapointed that this show was cancelled. I like the characters, the storyline is even better. Other shows in recent years that I have really enjoyed but were cancelled were: Jack & Bobby E-Ring Commander in Cheif Deadwood and now Jericho. I want the "new" American flag from the last episode. Its too bad that Jericho wasn't on NBC because then maybe it would have recieved a second chance to continue on the Sci-Fi channel. Testament is a frightening movie and for the time period in which it was made was I feel a far better movie than ABC's The Day After. Awe but all the unanswered questions of Jericho's storylines. What exactly was Jake doing before he returned home after all those years. Iraq, Ravenwood, or gasp one of the same group as Hawkins. Was Hawkins a infiltraitor of the group responsible for the nukes or was he actually one of them turned rogue? Who was on the train coming to town? Was it the new military/government or was it the neighboring town with more reinforcements? Why would they kill off the father/former mayor from the show as he was key to the cast?

Hey, You can get involved. Shows like Roswell and Angel were saved by rabid fans and I think this show garners equal if not more support. Take a look at this: http://www.nutsonline.com/gifts/jericho.html This was a special started today by the owner of the company. They shipped out 509lbs of all kinds of nuts before this happened, and 1000 pounds went out today for CBS. As of 2 and a half hours past their shipping deadline, they have 409 pounds of nuts waiting for tomorrow. If you have ever wanted to vent frustration at a network, I think nothing works better than sending a thousand pounds of nuts to their offices. Think about how big a 1 pound bag of nuts is and multiply it by 1000. Then add on the other 509lbs that went out over the weekend from just one company. I know of two others who have received at least 100 pounds of nut orders. If you think this show is worth it shyguy and to know the answers you should help back it. I still encourage everyone to watch that can and see what a special show it is... Not for the Sci-Fi values it contains necessarily, but for the relationships and the struggles of everyday people along the way. Everyone still jokes on their darkest day and this is as real as you can make it.

Jericho has officially been saved according to CBS exec's it will re-run the first season this summer and come back mid season with new episodes. I had a feeling that ratings weren't that bad just hard to compete with AI once they came back from hiatus. I urge anyone who hasn't discovered what a great show Jericho is to tune into the re-runs this summer or pick up the first season in September on DVD. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/tv/archives/116303.asp

That means that it's NOT cancelled, right? Hard to tell exactly. I mean, they are shooting new episodes or are they airing ones in the can already? Someone needs to mobilize for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Not me though. I just bought a hammock. Family Guy was resurrected. Arrested Development was the one that stung the most for me though.
