I work at a computer company on saturdays and usually they have Charlie played through out the building, because its the only station everyone can agree on. But today when I came in they had Kufo on and I was quite impressed with the songs they were playing.KUFO is having a smells like the 90's weekend where they play all the 90's rock, mostly the grunge/alternative rock. IT was actually fun to hear old songs by Hole, Candlebox, Seven Marry Three, Bush, even some of the classics like "longview" By Green Day. I love that song, i could hear it 5 million times and never get tired of it. A lot of that stuff I never hear anymore so I was actually enjoying what I was hearing. I hope they do this again soon because people at the office were loving what they were hearing.

Ive forgotten about Seven Mary Three and I LOVE Hole's "Live through this" album, one of the best albums from the 90's in my opinion.
It sounds like Kufo is playing some good stuff, I will be listening, but If I hear any Korn or Fred Durst's Limp Bizkit, my dial will be off faster than a catholic priest trying to molest an altar boy!

OK, so I will admit, Kufo is playing some cool stuff this weekend. The station almost sounds like K-Rock in Pitsburg, a great rock station( Much better than KUFO in my opinion). Kudos to KUFO for playing some interesting tunes this weekend. This might be a way to get some of their listeners back that they have lost over the past year. Loved hearing the Old Rancid tunes.

Beano - I had the same reaction when I saw Seven Marry Three on the list! They were fantastic, to this day, I'm still scared to go down by the water!!! Being 35, I consider the 90's to be 'my decade' music wise. For 90's flashbacks, I love when a station strays from only playing: goo goo dolls or 3rd eye blind. Oh, and Greenday are brilliant! I just got Bullet in a Bible, great live album!

Yeah Seven Mary Three are awesome! Im so sick and tired of hearing the Goo goo Dolls and that Train CRAP! That stuff is AWFUL and so overplayed! I wish program directors would understand that there are plenty of people who ARE SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING THE GOO GOO DOLLS AND MATCHBOX 20!

I never found Courtney Love very appealing personally, but as a musician, lyricist and performer there's no denying that she kicks ass. In my opinion Hole was a much better group than Nirvana.

You do realize that Billy Corgan did everything but perform the songs for her, right?

Really?? I knew he wrote the song "celebrity SKin" but I didn't think he wrote too much more. Did he also write the songs on her earlier albums?
And Yes, I also agree, Hole was a better band than Nirvana, and never got the acclaim that Nirvana did.
I think Her public persona, and her acting out has ruined her career. Like her or hate her "Live through this" By Hole was on the list for Spin Magazines top 100 bands of ALL TIME! Its interesting that radio plays Nirvana to Death, yet barely ever plays Hole.

You know....i'm sitting here looking the this thread title :"Kufo- "smells like the 90's"

Like most things interpretation is subjective. So my interpretation is that if I think musically the nineties "Stunk" then that would mean that KUFU plays stinky music. So a Child of the mid to late seventies whose high school days were prime-time for it probably appreciates it more than I....a child of the early sixties who favors late seventies tunes and even moreso of the eighties arena band era! I am relaxing my thinking a bit and sampling more types of music but I still hold onto one given fact "TOOL SUCKS"

Nuff Said Bout Dat!

One thing I've noticed about KUFO is that they have really expanded their playlist. Plus Im hearing songs On Kufo that I wouldn;t expect to hear. Like today I heard "cryin" By Aerosmith On KUFO. This weekend Kufo is doing the top rock songs of all time! Im wondering how far they will be going back.

Beano says: "The station almost sounds like K-Rock in Pitsburg, a great rock station( Much better than KUFO in my opinion)."

Pittsburgh's "K-Rock" must not have sounded good enough, because it flipped to a Talk format, a couple months ago.

"Im wondering how far they will be going back."

Probably at least as far back as "Stairway to Heaven"

There is a rumor which is quite popular that Kurt killed himself because he found out Courtney was cheating on him with Billy. Billy Corgan was like the Prince of 90's rock. He put his musical stamp on all the women he touched.

I don't think KUFO will be switching to Free FM anytime soon. First San Francisco changed to KFRC and now, the return of K-Rock to New York!

San Diego's 103.7 should be next... CBS Radio's "Free FM" was a huge failure, as many predicted.
