In light of some recent thread comments about "Macho Jesus" I thought I would share this story from the Onion.

I don't really want to start any of these topics up again, but I thought this was as funny as H-E-Double-Toothpicks:

Good grief, the Onion is just spot on hilarious when they are in good form.

For more fun than a barrel of Crude Oil, listen to The Onion Radio News on the hour, afternoons right after The Tim Riley Report on 970, Solid State Radio. It's where the REAL News Lurks!

Why would Jesus use a foreign made Glock? We all know he's an American, and would use an American made gun, most likely a Colt.

"I don't really want to start any of these topics up again..."

Yeah, right. While blaspheming God isn't a crime, your pathetic attempt at humour simply reverses the truth and mocks the one person who is both sinless and blameless.

By definition, being pro-life is against the murder of innocents. The actual carnage is performed by pro-abortion forces who continue to stop the beating heart of millions of innocent children, not those who are truly pro-life.

I always thought Jesus would have a good sense of humor, after all, his father did create the duck billed platapus(sp).

Herb, when will you write to Rudy Giuliani and get him to STOP his support for the slaughter?

Glad you're equally concerned, Andrew. Rest assured, I will support the most pro-life candidate. The war on terror and border security are important, but not so much as defending innocent life.

Herb, you consistently praise pro-Slaughter leaders like Rudy and Joe Lieberman, then turn around and attack other pro-Slaughter leaders for that issue alone. Can you really not see the hypocrisy in this?

I appreciate those who are correct on terror.

As I've said, fighting terror is an important issue. It's simply not as important as innocent life. I can see the good qualities of those who fight terror. Show me some pro-defense democrats and they'll get my kudos, too.

"I appreciate those who are correct on terror."

No.
You support those who agree with you on terror.
Much different from being correct.

Amus-

You wanna let them come over here and slaughter another 3,000+/- innocents? If not, then let's hear YOUR plan?

All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

So Herb we will win the war on terror when we kill all the terrorists. Is that what you're saying?

Best place to start on a plan is probably getting a peaceful, stable Iraq. That's not the same as "fighting terror." The real terrorists are al Qaeda, and they are only in Iraq because we are there. They train there, they recruit there, they gain strength there. If Iraq were peaceful and stable, al Qaeda would have no place there. Then we could hunt them down in the rest of the world, reduce sympathy for them, take away a recruitment and training place for them.

Bush's "US go it alone, we're going to defeat the 'enemy'" stategy for a peaceful Iraq has obviously failed. He should be fired and let someone else who knows how to succeed do the job. It's probably more of a political than a military solution.

Agreed. I would probably add Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to the mix as well and ensure they're not making, aiding and fomenting more terror.

He also made Herb, proof enough of a wacky sense of humor.

Well, he had to make a few really f'd-up distorted models so the rest of us could see the good and persevere to stay on the other path, sorta like Route 66.

So thanks Jesus, I'll continue to stay on the kind, loving and compassionate road that Chris is on, not the slippery-slope muddy trail that HerrB and his ilk follow that includes big flashy roadside attractions like war, greed, intolerance, and absolutely no respect for our mother earth and what we're doing to it and wacko dumbshit morons like Bush, Cheney, and Falwell.

If I were J.C. I'd ask dad to re-tool his R&D division, and see if he can come up with a friendlier: Herb 2.0, one that played well with others, and didn't have a huge man crush on my father!
