I found this on the Oregon Association of Broadcasters website, in the people for hire section. The name has been left out to protect the criminally stupid. Are you a small or medium market Radio station owner looking to retire or sell? Want to keep the station(s) in the hands of a local owner? If so, I have a solution that would benefit both of us. I am looking to get into Radio station ownership in a small or medium Oregon market (the coastal and Western half of the state only). But, I don't have the upfront money. So, unless you're willing to provide 100% owner financing, I am looking to work hard and provide a mutually agreed-upon amount of 'sweat equity' employment toward the purchase of the station(s). This is a serious offer. I want to relocate to Oregon and pursue station ownership. I am obviously willing and able to fly to Oregon to meet with you to discuss the matter. Thank you.

could be newportradio seriously, there is nothing wrong with covering all the bases if one has a great desire to get into that aspect of the business.

how many radio stations were given away back in the old days? In my life time I have seen several given away...school districts, etc...maybe its not so far fetched...ask any small medium market owner on a bad day and you probably could receive one for free too!

It's true, Rick! I was helping out at KSND occasionally last year. On a bad day, Ernie offered me the station for what I recall was $1.99 (he MIGHT have been kidding...). Unfortunately, I didn't have the upfront money.

He sounds to me like some moron who actually thinks he can trick someone into giving him part of a station instead of simply hiring him. I'll tell you what... I'll drop the "moron" insult if it actually works.

I am willing to relocate to Portland from Beaverton if a 100kw FM owner is willing to turn over the operations and programming to me to do a format flip to Regional Mexican or Spanish POP. I will keep it local too.
