Kufo has lost its identity, and they are completely ignoring their core demo. Do guys who listen to KUFO really care about American idol? After listening to a talk break from the Marconi show it is completely obvious to me why the numbers are dropping. An 8 minute talk break about who is going to be voted off American Idol, these constant conversations about Anna Nicole smith. Programing a rock station is not rocket science, and unless KUFO is trying to get more females listening to the station, they are doing a poor job at relating to their demo. Kufo has always been the Harcore Rock station for as long as I can remember. Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll. The station was always slightly edgy, slightly crude, slighty offensive and IT WORKED!!! KUFO has turned into a fruity top 40 station that plays rock. They might as well start playing Mariah Carey because the content of the afternoon show belongs on a top 40 station,NOT A ROCK STATION!

CBS radio is an absolute mess. They have two under performing stations. KUFOs numbers are horrible and Movin 1075 is going nowhere. How many times do we need to hear Prince??? Movins Stale playlist will continue to hurt them.

CBS should move KUPL over to 101.1 so they would have a 100 kW signal again. It would give them an edge in the Salem area along with some of the outer edges of Portland/Vancouver.

Isn't Mike Tierney the current PD, he's the former PD of rhythmic KUBE in Seattle. I think he was working for a rock label for a minute in NYC.

Beano,
I agree with everything you said. KUFO used to have hair on it's nuts. Now it doesn't even have nuts!

I used to channel surf once in a while to see what give's on the other stations and I just removed them from my preset's. Last couple of times I surfed to 101 nothing was of interest there! Charlie now fills that slot. I can't stand the Bonaduce/Carolla show at all. Bonaduce's voice is grating and his constant battle to control the mic gets old. Why is the Cort and Fatboy show on in the evening slot instead of the afternoon drive slot?

Did Savage ever pay off those people he owed money to or is he wearing cement shoes in the Willamette?

Savage is alive and well. And most likely amused at the fact that people brought that up.

I will have to agree here. KUFO doesn't sound good overall. It reminds me of a small market rock station, Right now it's on par with KNRQ, in Eugene. I programmed 3 differnet rock stations from 1971-1989, and it seems rock radio in general has lost it's edge nowadays.

Why can't the mornings be LOCAL? Why does CBS insist on nationally syndicated morning shows on KUFO?

If KUFO drops any lower you can be sure changes will be coming! Rock radio has lost its edge and that is a damn shame. KUFO used to always be cutting edge, and know they seem just as tame as k103, Seriously they don't sound like a rock station AT ALL!!
Cort and Fatboy SHOULD be on in the afternoon, the fact that they are on the evening shift is ridiculous! RIP KUFO!
