If he cant tell the difference between 10 and 10,000, when he's tired, what kind of mistake will he make if he's president and tired?

I guess you hold Obama to a much stricter standard because he's a Democrat. Bush has made dozens (hundreds?) of gaffes like this since he started running for president in 2000 and we've not heard a whole bit of concern about Bush from you. Gee, I wonder why THAT is?

" what kind of mistake will he make if he's president and tired? "

Man Nwokie - that's one of the weakest attempts to scare me as I have ever seen.

BOO!

Oh cmon Andrew, you are way underestimating that figure. More like thousands and thousands. Daily.

"At one point in the South Lawn ceremony, Bush noted that the Queen had dined with 10 U.S. Presidents and had helped the United States "celebrate its bicentennial in 17..." Bush caught himself and corrected the date to 1976. This brought loud laughter from many in the invited audience of thousands.

A chagrined Bush deadpanned that the queen just "gave me a look that only a mother could give a child."

The queen had the last laugh. Dispensing with protocol briefly at the formal dinner she hosted for President Bush, Queen Elizabeth said, "I wonder whether I should start this toast by saying, 'When I was here in 1776.'"

ANd he corrected himself, while speaking, and theres a lot of difference in mispeaking a date, and blaming the President for 10,000 deaths.

And he blamed the president for the National Guard being in Iraq, and not available, when the Gov says they had pleanty of men and equipment.

WOnder how an M1A2 could be used in disaster recovery anyway?

"Wonder how an M1A2 could be used in disaster recovery anyway?"

Yeah, gee, what could we do with an all-terrain vehicle with a great deal of towing capacity? Is there anything it might be able to achieve in an unorthodox way after a tornado or during a flood? How the heck could we utilize what amounts to a multi-million dollar bulldozer with a big gun? Hmmm. This must be pondered.

"And he blamed the president for the National Guard being in Iraq, and not available, when the Gov says they had pleanty of men and equipment."

Actually, no. She said the following:
TOPEKA, Kan. -- Gov. Kathleen Sebelius says the war in Iraq has exposed holes in domestic disaster response like the one currently under way in tornado-ravaged Kansas.

The governor said about half the state's National Guard trucks are in Iraq, equipment that would be helpful in removing debris. Sebelius, who asked the Pentagon in December to replenish lost resources, said the state also is missing a number of well-trained personnel.

``I don't think there is any question if you are missing trucks, Humvees and helicopters that the response is going to be slower,'' Sebelius said. ``The real victims here will be the residents of Greensburg, because the recovery will be at a slower pace.''

First of all, that equipment doenst belong to the Kansas National Guard, it all belongs to the US Govt. It is on loan to the guard.

"At Snow's second, midday briefing with reporters, he offered that it turned out that the state had requested several items that the federal government supplied - those radios, and also a mobile command center and a mobile office building, an urban search and rescue team and coordination on extra Black Hawk helicopters.

Snow recounted a phone conversation on Tuesday between Sebelius and Bush's White House-based homeland security adviser, Fran Townsend, in which the governor said she was pleased with the federal performance on the tornado and had everything she needed."

Amazing that Tony Snow could give a different version of this than all the other mainstream news sources. Who would have thought?

Somehow these problems all seem to arise when you have a Democrat governor. Wonder why?

"saddam hussien has weapons of mass destruction." Thank God Bush apologized about that gaffe right away or we'd be mired in the midst of a civil war in Iraq! Whew! :-)

Skep, didn't Herb tell you? It was John Kerry and Hillary Clinton who insisted that George Bush invade Iraq - it's all their fault. Bush just got faulty intelligence from the Democrats.

Why should he apologize for speaking the truth? Saddam had chemical weapons, not as many as we thought, but he had them.

Also he still had "Dr Germ" in charge of his weapons program, and they could have generated new weapons at any time.

In 2003 Saddam had weapons of mass destruction about as dangerous to Humanity as what most Americans have under their sinks at home. You think that's what Bush meant when he said all that stuff, eh?

Of course, Saddam had really serious WMDs before at the time of the first Gulf War - we know because Saddam used them while President Dukakis appeased him in 1989. Right?

He didn't have squat. Got his butt kicked, hid, was found in a hole with 100K or so, just in case dollars!

Man, that's just gotta be cramping the GOP style right now.

I thought Senator Byrd had the right approach today:

Since the government we authorized force does not exist any more (kicked his ass), doesn't that authorization no longer apply to our current occupation?

If not, why not? It's a win right?

"It was John Kerry and Hillary Clinton who insisted that George Bush invade Iraq - it's all their fault."

Damn that Frenchie Kerry. What was he thinking when he thought it would be cool to go to Vietnam and be a swift boat skipper and get shot at?

Why couldn't he just join the national guard and rotate tires (michilen -- get it?) stateside or get deferred like that other rich kid Cheney??

Damn, we've a mess in Iraq and its those French looking democrats. Grrr.
