I keep thinking Lars is still a local talk show host. This from All Access: |

When I lived in Austin in the mid 1990s, KJCE was running the "Solid Gold Soul" format. The callsign stood for "K-Juice." I have some AM 1370 refrigerator magnets that replace the zero in 1370 with an orange. |

Let me guess, the station ran out of Juice? |

And that's when "Talk Radio 1370" was born? |

Well, this should be interesting. A Scando from Astoria down in the heart of Beanerland doing a remote from a cattle company in the middle of the most liberal city in Texas. But it's great Lars still has the national reach to pull this off. Lars, whatever you do, don't leave the Kevlar in the trunk. |

Actually, as an Astorian I want to point out that Lars is from Tillamook. KOKE, at 1370, was Austin's only country station back in the '60's. (I think they were a daytimer then) I remember their TOH ID/Intro to news was "KOKE, Austin, where country music IS news..." |

KOKE, by the way, is now the call of the Air America affiliate in Austin (1600AM) |

In 1995, KJCE was "Solid Gold Soul." I think that by 1996, they flipped to ABC's "The Touch" urban AC format, which mixed in new music and had a more sophisticated-sounding presentation. I was not in Austin at the time that The Juice dried up (sorry, couldn't resist). |
