nope Mr. Moore has not been impressed with my demo on a couple of other occasions so, I'll pass, but thought I would post the openings in case someone missed them. Some solid talents in the area available.

Roger..I have been reading you posts about how nobody likes your demo tapes and how you have had a tough time finding a gig for quite some time now. Its been fun to read actually.
I am not doggin on you, just looking back at your posts.

Let's say the demo's seem to do well with some PDs, and not others. The frustrating part is The sticking point of late has been proximity to market rather than abilities.......

Hasn't been an issue about nobody liking it, In fact, I've saved some of the positive emails. As for the earlier post... I have to assume Mike Moore wasn't overly enthused with previous submissions though it was never directly communicated whether they sucked or not. Seems kind of pointless to hit him with more of the same. Now, I can say that a particular station in Centralia prefers a straight intros and bit free presentation.

Somtimes when you try to wow them with a funny phoner and a creative production piece, and something entertaining, you run the risk of overkill. Hey, It's all good. I'll impress someone that matters, or I won't..... I can drive the car at 25mph, but I need to show that I can run it up to 100 as well.....

Hey, as long as stations are adding live bodies, I'm happy. Hoping that it fills the bill for some deserving talent.

Either way I enjoy the give and take on this board. I cheer just as hard when one of the good guys lands a gig... Jeff, Matt, and the others we all wish good things for.

I second Dodger's recommendation. It's a family-owned cluster that is run very well ... with fun people. Tell Vikki hi when you're sitting in the front office waiting to talk with Randy.

There's a Freddy's in Roseburg, so its not like its some remote outpost like Christmas Valley.

I like Fort Rock better, but Christmas Valley has some bonuses. There's a gorgeous "mothballed" over the horizon radar facility, and a chicken in every pot in every trailer. Not only that, but Paisley has the "Mosquito Festival" -- up the road apiece past "Hole in the Ground." Friends, that is living.

In all seriousness, I hope you get the job Roger. Good luck!

Due what direction from Christmas Valley is that radar facility?

Oh, top tourist site in Christmas Valley would be that huge kitty litter mill SE of the city. Go out there in the middle of July with the wind blowing for a taste of the Iraq desert. Stumbling over abandoned drilling equipment adds realism to the war zone.

But Christmas Valley also has religion!

K240BX 95.9 beams KNLR's New Life Radio to Santa's Valley with 23 watts.

K17DU TV channel 17 covers the region with 3 Angels Broadcast Network and 4,660 watts.

It's only a matter of time before the predator is SAVED.

My father loves photography and we would drive all over our gorgeous state when I was growing up. One of our favorite places was the campground at Fort Rock. (On another trip, a visit to KQIK resulted in a job offer, but at 17, I really didn't want to skip KBPS and spend the summer so far away from my pals.) Anyway, I remember seeing the lights in the distance all night and the requisite non-smiling strangers at the little store when construction of this facility was in full swing. As I recall, it was east-southeast from Ft. Rock. I also remember how it ruined DXing.

Don't forget "Crack in the Ground" and the Petrified Forest, as well as "Hole in the Ground" and the little "ma & pa" museum near Fort Rock.

The Cowboy Dinner Tree alone is worth the trip, unless you're vegan. When you say a "chicken in every pot", that's the truth...order the chicken at CDT, you get a whole chicken. If you order the beef, it's a roast. They also have a couple of really cool cabins there that you can rent.

P.S. Littlesongs, I used to be so PO'd that my parents (the cheap-skates!) would take us to places like that instead of Disneyland or even Pixie Land, like all the cool kids...I thought it was always humiliating to answer "what did you do this summer?"...little did I know.

Mrs. M -- No kidding! Me too. My brother and I saw more great stuff on our own two legs than any of the spoiled ones. You never realize how lucky you are in the moment, but boy, I remember when LaPine had a bar, a few other stores and a Dairy Queen with a "B" from the health board in the window. We hit the DQ because the sheer number of dusty pickups assured us it was good eating whether the bureaucrats thought so or not.

Hey, if we can sell Christmas Valley, perhaps we oughta put together the "best of Roseburg" for Roger. For familiar suds, they have the southern outpost of the McMenamins empire.

No Target ... but they have a new Red Robin!!! There's a Wal*Mart. Safeway just closed their downtown store, but the one further up is huge.
Dodger, yes Miss Vikki is doing quite well, thank you. She's having a time traveling with her new, svelt self.
By the way, I'VE lost 120 pounds since our Salem days.

Wow, You've got it all set up for me. The only thing missing is a 500 dollar 1992 Honda or Geo metro sitting in Freddies parking lot with the key under the floormat so I have something to drive, and the Harmon homes real estate book for the area sitting on the front seat with all of the houses under 125 thousand circled with a black marker....

Who do I pay for the car?

Red Robin? One of my faves. I like the Royal, but I order it with a chicken breast instead of the beef patty.... I like RR. They are very customer service oriented!

As for Wal*Mart. Always low prices, but can usually find them LOWER elsewhere. Geez put two houses some place and Wally will build a store between them. Except in Vermont!

Roseburg is a neat place! Nice trails along the Umpqua (move quickly when crossing under I-5, however); a great Mcmenamins, beautiful farms, ranches and vineyards out Garden Valley road and a responsive/intelligent radio community. Go get 'em Kyle Bailey!
