...but were lost, due to incompetence.

A while back, we hashed this out, reaching the conclusion that either the (P)resident lied, or was stupid.

Well, I guess the polls favor stupid! Lesser of two evils right?

This, from Salon, is just nuts! I'm not sure I want to laugh, or cry over the profound need to justify this administration so that some pet issues can get some attention!

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/04/21/wmd_conspiracy/index.html

Essentially, the story goes we discovered vast underground bunkers of WMD's, but failed to secure them properly.

(Might have helped if our commander in chief would have listened to those who said we needed a lot more troops than we actually engaged with, but hey, what's a little error huh?)

Those weapons were stolen and sold to other nations now plotting our demise!

(Plotting like Bin Laden might still be, since we hosed up capturing him too?)

Now, this is really embarrasing. Afterall, the power of the GOP is at stake. We've got morality to legislate, etc... Letting this out would really screw the pooch, so the decision was made to keep it quiet until recently.

(Like when just about every piece of news, that's actually relevant to the matters of the day, goes badly for the GOP and the (P)resident in general?)

This is totally not true, but let's say it is. Where does this leave the GOP and the (P)resident in general? Surely we can't let this level of incompetence continue right? If things got hosed up this badly, how can we trust his guidence in matters of foreign policy and war? A coupla more cockups like this and we might all be fighting, right?

I think it's in the best interest of all Americans to do what it takes to remove a known bozo from power as quickly as is possible. Congress can do this. Don't bother impeaching the stupid guy, just bury him in legal investigations, cut the dollars and hope the damage is kept to a minimum.

It's a solid plan that might save our butts!

Seriously, it's gotta be pretty damn bad when this kind of thing starts up.

I don't know if being stupid really does trump being an ass, but I guess we might be getting to find out! The entertainment value is gonna be high, that's for sure.

(Yeah, Nwokie it's a blog. It's not even a reputable one, and it links to a bunch of other non-reputable ones. But the kicker, the significance in other words, is these other blogs are leading the charge for the GOP and are working double over time to deliver something --anything that even has a remote chance of making everything this (P)resident has done, somehow end up being ok.)

Shes making a big leap, from finding bunkers that used to hold WMD's, that they were there when US troops arrived.

Its fairly well known that several trailers left Iraq, into Syria just before the invasion. While The president was dealing with the UN,etc.

In my opinion, the biggest mistake, was not going in in Nov, to heck with the UN and everyone else. but the President was trying to be a nice guy.

As to not enough troops, Central command had all the troops it asked for. General Franks was the one that put the plan together.

And you know they had WMDs in them? Why is it that all the leads followed by US investigators after the invasion were dead-ends? Invesigators found that there HAD been no WMDs, not that they had disappeared.

Right, only after Rumsfeld dictated that he wouldn't approve any plan that asked for too many troops. Earlier plans with too many troop were rejected. Franks knew that if he asked for too many troops, Rumsfeld would replace him with someone else. This is well known - read Woodward's "State of Denial" for example.

"Its fairly well known that several trailers left Iraq, into Syria just before the invasion."

Oh really? Do you have a legitimate source for that info?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that "several trailers" leave Iraq for Syria nearly every day of the year.
