I heard a rumor that Def Leppard (who can still bring it) will be touring this year possibly with Styx and Foreigner who are both missing so many members that I would not wish to see them. According to tour dates on Def Leppard's site they will hit Clark County Amp on Wed Sep 12th. Why tour when the group is basically broken up and the music sounds like crap? Anyone remember Gary Cherone and Van Halen, Queen with Paul Rogers, Journey with Jeff Scott Soto? Sure they may be great singers in there own environment but put them in a legacy band and it just is disappointing at the least. I saw Def Leppard last year along with Journey who had Jeff Scott Soto as front man and I will say that Def Leppard did still bring it. Journey was somewhat of a let down without Steve Perry. Styx without Tommy Shaw and Dennis DeYoung would be even worse than Queen with Paul Rogers! And Foreigner....what is there only one original member, the guitarist, at this time?

Seen Def Leppard last year (which was a great show)and don't care to see the other two piece meal groups so I guess unless I win free tickets I will have to save my money on this one!

wa u tink bout dat

I think they blew all their money and need cash to keep the babes around, hmm?

Babes or reputation? Decisions, decisions . . . :-)

I haven't been a big fan of anything Def Leppard has put out since ... well, Hysteria was decent, their last REALLY good album was Pyromania. I have no interest in seeing Journey without Steve Perry ... it just ain't Journey.

I doubt Dennis will ever tour with Styx again, I saw them about 10 years ago sans Dennis but they DID have Tommy Shaw back (fresh off of his Damn Yankees gig) and they sounded good. The lead singer did a decent job on Dennis' songs ... not as good as when I did see them WITH Dennis, but passable. I'm not sure I am interested without Tommy.

And Queen with Paul Rodgers? I know he's good and all ... but talk about a letdown! I think the best thing that could have happened here is to let Freddie's music live on without someone else picking up that torch.

M (Eagles) O (Eagles) N (Eagles) E (Eagles) Y. Roll out the animatronic dolls, slog through the old crap and sell out with hundred dollar nosebleed seats.

Def Leppard. Wow. That brings back memories. I am glad to see them touring. I agree though, hang it up if there are only one or two original members left. Yes, Mike Love, I am talking to you.

Only twice have I ever been blown away by a band without the original players. Arthur Lee and Love at the Roseland and Brian Wilson at the Aladdin were two of the greatest shows ever. They were the only men left, but they were positively amazing. Usually, it is letdown city.

I think people go to see the old bands more for the memories, than the music.

Queen with paul Rogers is not queen!!!!! If Queen still wants to play music with Paul Rogers, start a new band, but don't call it Queen.

They should tour as "Spinster Princess featuring Brian May" and be honest about it.

How about calling the band "King" since the queen of the band died of Aids, and is no longer with us.

They should just hire George Michael and get it over with. Pay John Deacon whatever he wants to tour again - ONE more time. Get Roger Taylor a little botox and Brian May should sell his cape on eBay.

Tour. Rock. Sing. Buy back the Queen Live Killers cover lighting rig from Stone Temple Pilots and NAIL it.

Or get these guys - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Snyp3EkkDNo

If Im not mistaken George Michael and the surviving members of Queen did a remake of "somebody to love" back in the early 90's, right after Mercurys death. IT was played all over top 40 radio. I remember thinking George Michael??? HELL NO!

Yeah. I know and even understand what you're sayin'. It's just personal taste. George Michael SINGS very well to me. Freddie, above all else, had a voice, man. When I hear a Queen song covered, how much I like it depends on the vocals. George Michael also did a version on a Queen song named '39. That was actually the one that kind of sold me on his ability to sing Queen songs.

He's old enough to not look stupid and make the mistake of moving like Freddie Mercury on stage ( note to Gary Cherone - It's neat that you are influenced by Freddie. But the stage poses and Mic Stick carrying made you look silly ).

Plus, Geroge Michael is still popular in the U.K. and...

...my God. What the Hell is happening to me? It won't happen. I'm fine with that too.

I'll wait for one more generation to discover Queen when The Freddie Mercury film is released late next year. Johnny Depp has been tapped to play Freddie. There was a small internet campaign to draft Sasha Baron Cohen - he's got the look. But I bet it will be good. He's going to lip-sync the songs. I'd prefer that over him or anyone else trying to actually sing the songs.

cj sez: "Buy back the Queen Live Killers cover lighting rig from Stone Temple Pilots"

It must be some rig. Where is the rig playing now? I'd like to go see it in concert! :-)

Johnny Depp Playing Freddie Mercury. That ought to be an interesting movie. I remember when "bohemian Rhapsidy" was re released off the Waynes World Soundtrack back in 91. Suddenly you had KIDS turning into Queen fanatics who had no clue who Queen was before Waynes world Came out. Thanks to Top 40 who played that song in hot rotation back in 91. Its weird to think that a classic rock song became an even bigger hit 20 some years later on Top 40 radio. Sadley Freddie Mercury died right when Waynes World Came out. Im wondering if the movie will cronicle his entire life including his death.

Chickenjuggler. Truly a great idea! Why not? It isn't as if both bands weren't milking -- pardon the expression -- the same audience when they were -- again, pardon the expression -- huge.

No, really, it could work. It isn't any more silly than Rundgren fronting the Cars.

If Dave, Michael, and Alex decided to tour with someone else on the lead guitar would you pay $160.00 for two tickets to go see them? I would hope not! At least Queen billed themselves as "Queen with Paul Rogers" and made sure you knew up front that there was something different. Things that should have been "Journey with Jeff Scott Soto" for example. That way some fan don't just see a ticket alert, pay through the nose for good seats, and then get disappointed by the performance being not what they expected!

I dont think most people go to oldies concerts, for the music. They go for the memories, and just to get out.

Queen, is an oldies band now, just like Paul Revere and the Raiders, or Hermans Hermits.

At least Hermans hermits has Peter Noone back, how can you have Hermans hermits, without Herman?
