Hi, I am working on a book dealing with Presley's Pacific Northwest appearances and was curious to know if anyone attended the King's only Eugene appearances during the Thanksgiving weekend of 1976? There is some rumor that Elvis did an interview on one of the Eugene radio stations back then and that the audio survives in bootleg form...does anyone know or might know which station Elvis would have done the interview?..who would have been the DJ that interviewed Elvis? Did the interview take place at the station or backstage at Mac court or at the hotel he would have been staying in? Out of all of Elvis Pacific Northwest performances the Eugene 76 appearances are the toughest to find people that attended the show. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you very much!

You might try Dan Nims. He's been in Eugene radio for a long time and I remember talking to him about the concert once. He could at least point you in the right direction. He's in the phone book. Be prepared, though, he loves to talk! But he's also a fountain of information.

I think Gary Grossman went to that concert, too. He's in Hood River now.

I was also at that show. My memory is that the sound was poor. After all it was in Mac Court. The King did indeed look somewhat bloated but he worked hard at making it a good show. I seriously doubt that he would have given any recorded interviews. He was reclusive and well protected by his Memphis Mafia.
