PORTLAND - Portland's KXL Radio is pulling Don Imus off the air after the syndicated talk show host made racially charged comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team. MSNBC and CBS Radio will suspend Imus for two weeks starting Monday. KXL says it was considering dropping Imus before the latest controversy, and this was the last straw. "I am going to take him off the air on KXL. We'll see what happens to his show nationally, and we'll see if the market will accept him or not accept him once his suspension airs," General Manager Tim McNamara told KOIN News 6. Imus also airs locally on KUIK. The general manager there say he will likely keep the host after the suspension. Meanwhile, Rutgers players and coaches say they are hurt and disappointed by the comments. What about the station's other racists: Larson and Savage.

Sounds like KXL was looking for an excuse to dump Imus anyway. They aren't looking for an excuse, apparently, to dump Michael Savage, so they don't care how offensive he might be on the air. Andrew

When did KXL run Imus? Early mornings? Thought they had a local morning show.
