I am amazed at the amount of hate this board has for Z100. Obviously, nothing I could say will sway anyone's opinion, but I will say this:

Brian Bridgman is doing an excellent job. He, like every PD these days, is given very difficult parameters to work within, and he's making great strides with the station. Sure, he'd like to have a fully live staff 24/7, but it simply isn't possible. But the guys who are there every day gring their best...every day. Chase may be the hardest working guy in radio. Torrez is sounding great, and finding his niche at night. And the Buckhead show is gaining audience weekly, the numbers show it.

So, say what you will, but this staff is working incredibly hard to do good radio. The new Promotions director will have a great team to work with.

Z100 is sounding really good, except for +3% pitched up music. Any PD who thinks that makes a station sound better, should be slapped!

How frickin annoying....there is no reason ever to speed up music.

The Buckhead show is unlistenable! A 13 year old girl can listen to that show, and thats about it!

The music pitch is RIDICULOUS! It soounds like Chipmunks. I don't have a problem with Chase, but the Buckhead show is an unlistenable show! The station sounds mediocre at best! Sorry matt its personal opinion on how the station sounds.

Matt, take a look at the last couple of years of Arbitrons...Buckethead has been getting thumped for a good portion of it.
There is a reason that Z100 was NOT going to renew his contract when it expired end of last year. He talked about it on air, saying CC was dragging their feet with his new contract. If he was so strong why did Z100 sign him to a ONE YEAR deal when they couldnt find anyone willing to come work for Z100 to replace him.
I do however agree with you about Chase.

The smartest thing for Z100 to do is get rid of Buckhead and throw Chase in the mornings. I suggest putting Kristina in the morning also! Why the heck is she not on the air full time on Z100???? (no this is not Kristina) The buckhead show lost an hour of the show because people have lost interest in the show. It may not be great, but its sure a heck of a lot better than the buckhead show.

I'm sure if Z-100 got rid of Fear Channel things would sound much better. I would guess it's the lovely corporate environment that causes most of their problems. As is the case with most Portland stations we complain about here!
