WASHINGTON (AP) -- Presidential spokesman Tony Snow's surgery to remove a small growth showed that his cancer has returned and spread to his liver, the White House said Tuesday.

I don't care for his politics, but I wish him a speedy recovery. Let's pray for Tony gang.

I don't know anything about liver cancer, but it sure doesn't sound good. As you know, he had his colon removed last time around with cancer. You've got to admire the way this guy keeps going when many would just fold up and fade away.

Having just come from our local major hospital (UNMC), and seeing what some of the people are fighting, it sort of makes all of this political fighting and international nonsense seem like a ridiculous way to spend our time on this earth.

Deane- Way to preach it. Snow is still very young at 51. Has so much of his life yet to live. I hope the stress of political life dosen't hinder the healing process.

Liver cancer? Oh NO.

Liver cancer, when it is discovered, is fatal around 90% of the time. It is almost impossible to detect early, and when it IS detected it is too late.

It killed my mother-in-law a year ago four days before Christmas. Seeing what she went through, I would not wish it upon anyone EVER.

Deane and KSKD is right - it doesn't matter about all the pissing and whining that goes on, we're people first. Wow, that sucks.

Yup, The chances of Mrs. John Edwards surviving through this cancer is very slim! My prayers go out to John Kerry and and his very sick wife! Shes in stage 3 of this cancer which means it has spread a lot through out her body. Very sad.

When Tony Snow was in Portland in 2004 he went along with Lars and Preached the Medical Savings Account was the answer to Health Insurance Premiums running so high.

I'd like to know what his opinion is now.

Which one?

Some Federal Employee Coverages will only pay for hospice care for those with Liver Cancer.

It reminds me of the Health Insurance Broker who always had to remind clients which proceedures were not covered.

Then he came down with Pancreatic Cancer and was informed by his insurance company that almost all proceedures that might help him were not covered.

Just another story of you reap what you sow.

isn't pancreatic cancer among the most nasty and fatal?

unless you're among the top 10% weatlty, one becomes a democrat quite quick when you're dying and in a lot of pain.

A "couple of hundred" health plans?

What government are you talking about exactly, Okie? As a federal employee, you have your pick of about 4 national plans and a couple of local plans, maybe 8 total, if you're lucky. And of those 8, 4 are crap, and the other 4 are big dollarino's and I couldn't afford them. I paid $300+ for my (just me) share of Pacifi-don't-care, and they sucked, but were better than Kaiser and BC/BS.

When two political figures from opposing parties make big cancer announcements within weeks of each other -- and so close to an election year -- I can't help but find it slightly suspicious.

I don't know, maybe I just listen to Art Bell too much...
